Looking for something to replace OEM shocks
I have a E92 2008 335i, I love the BMW ride quality but I would like it to feel alil more sporty but without giving up a lot of that really nice ride quality.
I see lots of options out there but what would you guys recommend from experience?

Koni is your best choice. Ride quality is retained, but you will get a lot more body control from better damping. On top of that Koni's are on sale right now!

+2 skip the FSD's. Set the yellows at 1-1.25 full turn from soft in the front and 2/3-3/4 of a turn from soft in the rear w/oe sport springs

How do they soak up the small bumps vs. OE sports? I find the OE kind of jarring even with 18inch non RFT.

You gotta remove them to adjust them. You can get top adjusts from Dinan or HPA; they just cost more. I'm actually selling my Koni Sports with BMW PS springs and bumpstops if you're interested.

Hello,
I am also needing to replace my front shocks as I have 91k on my 06 e90... I have been reading a lot and have come to the conclusion that, Koni yellows seem like a good fit for what I need.. comfort... and dependability. I also need new control arm bushings.. (I will be replacing the whole unit) Question 1- ( this may sound dumb ) If I go with the yellows, is it absolutely necessary to replace the springs as well?? If I go with the Koni they are adjustable but I am thinking about doing the front then the rear... I was planning on replacing just the front shock then when I can do the rear, also grab better springs and lower the whole car at the same time.. Question 2.... is there much quality difference in a control arm or all they all kinda the same if I am not upgrading to the M3 or anything like that... Thanks in advance. |

It is all in what you need. 90% of people don't actually need coilovers because they will likely set the suspension height once and then never touch them again and like others have said you get what you pay for. A set of koni yellows and whatever spring you want to pair them with will handle great, give you some ride quality adjustment and are quality components. You can't ask for much more.

Well I can say my car will never see the track. I dont really NEED anything else but the car does have 79k and Im sure the stock shocks could use being replaced so if Im going to replace them then I might as well upgrade them alittle right?

I just got the Koni sport for 330.00 free shipping/no tax on the front pair... I looked at like every site. its the cheapest Ive found. Now I wanna order springs... Do you think a 1 inch drop on the set would look good on 06 330i with 18's? or should I go more???
