winter and summer tires

Hello!

I bought my 328xi (pic below) and the original rims were fitted with winter tires. My question is, when winter is over, should I buy summer tires and fit them on the same rims? Will the rims be damaged if I keep switching tires twice a year?

If that's going to cause harm, should I buy a second set of rims and tires for the summer time? I am thinking of used 19" BBS LM with tires.

Please advise,

I'd buy a separate set of wheels for summer.

Yes numerous tire and wheel changes will eventually get u a knick in the wheel

Two sets the sidewalls will wear down if you keep mounting and dis mounting tires.

Cost being no object, of course two separate sets is the way to go.

Even if it is only twice a year?

Thank you Gary,
Since you're from TireRack, what should I keep in mind when searching for rims with regards to the maximum size that will fit without any tweaks?

I'd be more worried about the sidewalls being weakened by being mounted & dismounted twice a year than I would be about the rims getting scratched.

BBS wheels are really nice. But tirerack has a nice selection of less expensive, lighter wheels. Personally, I like OZ Racing. I believe ASA are Korean made under license from BBS. I have sport edition (tire rack's house brand?) 5 spoke wheels for my winters. Never had a problem, fairly light, look great. If you put a BMW center cap on them, no one woudl ever know it is a $500 set of wheels ($500 for f4 wheels, not $500 each)
