They set my chamber to -1.9

is that too aggressive? I want longer tire life, should I get it adjusted to -1.5?

For strictly street use? Yes, you're better off at -1.5 front camber if wear is a priority for you.

Really depends on the toe.

Yeah. Do not let anyone there do your alignment other then PAT. Went there for an alignment waited 2.5 hours, drove home and noticed the steering wheel was off centered. The following week I went back and waited 2 hours again. I asked for Pat but he was off that day so they had the same guy work on the steering wheel. Yet again, the steering wheel was not centered. What a waste of my time.

I had Pat do my alignment last year and everything was PERFECT.

Another great prop for Pat at Altech!

Took my car in last minute as I had a tire blow out after hitting a major pothole. He set everything perfect again.....

He has two machines. They are both down? Well, shit happens at times I guess. If my mechanic told me his hoist was down I wouldn't find another mechanic. Just gotta roll with it sometimes. Especially when you find a good shop. Hopefully he is back up and running quickly man.

Cheers,

well hes not my mechanic, just someone who does alignments so i could easily go to other shops that come recommended.
that is why i asked if you went by yesterday, lying to customers sure isn't a smart business approach, especially since i told him i got his number from the forum. he didnt even tell me they had two machines, just said sorry cant do it machines down....koool

Al tech does have two machines. However, pat only likes to use the new machine for the higher end cars. I called him on September 13 to see if he can do my alignment and he did inform me that the machine he uses for our car is down.

Got my alignment done by pat. Took 20mins after I waited 30 mins because they were running behind. Seem like everyone there was doing an alignment.

Anyways, the alignment was perfect. Pat explained everything to me and provided me with a printed handout

I had an alignment done at Altech. They were very nice and polite and got me in and out efficiently. And then I burned my rear P-Zeroes off the car about 15,000 thousand kilometres before their life should have been up. I had the alignment checked again and the rear camber was completely wrong. It was identical on both sides and the tires were f-cked the exact same on both sides. Altech plain and simply screwed the job up.

I successfully use an Indy shop for most of my maintenance (RMP). From now on where alignment is concerned I will pony up the extra money and only do it at the BMW dealership. There is a lot of interpretation available to the techs who perform alignments at an indy shop, and I'm no longer willing to put my tires and driveline components in harms way to save $80 or so. This is one maintenance item I will go to the dealership for.

Stock wheels? Or different spec rims?

Did you ask them for a stock alignment? The stock alignment isn't the best for wear.
If you don't want tire wear, ask them for 0 toe front and rear.

Also, have you lowered your car?
