W810 Adaptor

Hi Guys
Do you know if the W810 snap-in adaptor is available ??? It seems I can't find it here in HK. The phone works well with the BT preparation but I experience reception problems and I would need to connect the phone to the roof aerial to make it perfect...

I had an LG 8700. Although it would push the phonebook to the car (unlike my Samsung A930) the call quality was intermittent. One call would sound fine and the next would sound very muddy to the person on the other end of the line. I tried the Verizon RAZR V3M at the store and was able to make 6 calls in a row, all with consistent good quality. The RAZR is one of the BMW approved phones. So I'm going to switch to that one. Its a little older phone, but at least the people on the other end of the line won't hate talking to me while I'm in my car.

So to add to the non-compatible phone list:
Samsung A930 - Phonebook won't pair
LG VX-8700. Phone book pairs, but call quality poor to other person

Trying to decide between:

Motorola RAZR V3m
Motorola MOTOKRZR K1m
LG VX8700

All should be compatible according to Verizon Wireless, but on the RAZR V3m is also on the BMW compatibility list.

Any thoughts about these? Comparisons / ratings? Compatibility issues?

Thanks!

See my post above about the 8700. Didn't work well. As for the KRZR, you'd think that if the RAZR worked, that it would too, but since its not on the "approved" list I'm somewhat skeptical. I may try one today when I go to the Verizon store before I commit to a RAZR.

I've got the Treo 650 paired with the E92 330 coupe (2007); it works ok, but it doesn't send the address book....

I have upgraded my Sprint Samsung A900 to the A900M. Only the M model works properly with iDrive. It dials and synchs its address book properly.

I got my RAZR V3m yesterday. Paired it today with no problem and the phone book imported just fine! Haven't made any calls yet, but it looks like no problem on compatibility.

Just tried to pair a Nokia E65 with my 2006 E90. Unfortunately it doesn't transfer the adressbook. It is possible to receive and initiate calls though.

I have been using Verizon Samsung i730 with my 2007 E90. Addressbook transfers and shows updates when contact changed on phone and call quality is excellent. Paired as headset profile. Was not able to transfer from talking on the handset then coming into the car and going to handsfree mode.

Nice. My V3m worked/works great with my old E90/E92. No problems whatsoever with calls, addressbook, etc.

I'm getting to the point where I want a new phone (Verizon). I'm looking at the smart phones/PDAs. Would the Palm Treo 700wx work as well as the RAZR in the E92? The hands-free function is a must for me.

Edit: Just did a search, found a thread on it. nevermind.

I want to update this thread in regards to the Sony Ericsson P990i. With the latest software update from sony the P990i does indeed work with the 2007 E92 335i.

I would probably go ahead and replace it if I could find a phone that is fully compatible (including address book) that had the following: Windows Mobile, 3G internet, GSM, and a full QWERTY keypad. Any suggestions?
I'm not sure exactly what is and what isn't working for you, but I have a WM6 device (HTC S710) and it works well enough. Try using your SIM for the phonebook, and then pair.

Sure, most any bluetooth phone will be able to send and receive calls, but only compatible phones will upload their contact list. In my 335xi with i-drive, I can't even manually enter contacts. I can dial by numbers only. Of course, who knows phone numbers anymore? That's the phone's job.

I read on one of the forums here, that the LG Chocolate was compatible. Can anyone confirm that? It is one of the phones on my short list for my next phone.

I have had 3 phones through Verizon that all worked perfectly in my '06 325i, a Razer V3m, Motorola Q, and currently a Blackberry 8830 World Edition. All 3 transferred the address book and everything.

Cingular 3125, also known as the HTC startrek, works great on my 335i. Address book transfers over fine. Send/receive calls works great. Even the "missed call" icon appears. The only thing that doesn't work is the Signal Strength bars, but i can live with that!
