A question guys, would there be a noticeable difference in looks between 255/35ZR19 and 265/30ZR19? i.e would 265/30ZR19 look nice and wide or the difference is not readily visually apparent ?

Nope.
Runflats are the lowest. Depends on how OCD you are. The difference is only very small (5mm each side). Depends on the look you're going for, 255 can look nice with a bit of stretch. Most people won't notice the difference. |

+1 to that. Had them on my previous car. Much better than the Yoko Advan Sport I had. Although the improved traction came at a cost - only lasted a tad under 10,000km.
Seperately just noticed that Yokes now make a RFT: http://www.yokohama.com.au/ourtyres/...spx?tyreid=225 |

Guys, time for new tires, is the Tire rack still the best option or is there a well priced Oz option now?

And FWIW, Though I agree with the initial Michelin PSS FTW, the Continental DWs are really really good in the wet, only give up a little bit in the real world to the Mich. and are a fair bit less expensive while being quite, and comfortable.
Just a thought, it's easy to just hop on the bandwagon of a top selling major name tire simply because it's lap times are X or Y. So yeah tires are like anything else. One persons "best Every" is anothers "crap". But yeah after 3 sets of the Continentals on BMWs, and a 370Z, my experience has been really good.

I have been really impressed with my goodyear F1 A2's, in the dry the wheelspin is minimal, they are wearing quite well and are nice and quite and comfortable and were a lot cheaper then the michelins at the time i bought mine (sept 2012 by memory)
In the wet though they cannot put the power down, but really with the power im making and no lsd most tyres would struggle! |

Just replaced PZero's with Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2's. Best bang for your buck imo, especially if you source from www.tirerack.com
Mind you, I did A LOT of research including flipping through various tyre tests on numerous websites as well as the usual MOTOR/Wheels magazine articles. |

Instead of starting a new thread I thought of asking the question here,
I have recently change my tyres to PSS oem size 225/35/19 fronts and 255/30/19 rears. I'm just wondering how many of you guys are running that size on non RFT and have rubbing issues? I just realise that My fronts are rubbing when I reversed on a full right lock on the wheel. I didnt expect it to rub considering I went to oem size |

I am running the same profile but slightly wider (235 front & 265 rears) Pirelli PZero and I have no rubbing issues at all in full lock. Have you done any suspension mods? William runs stock standard oem fitments on Nitto and I don't believe he has any issues either. I would have thought PSS wouldn't have any issues and you wouldn't need to roll the guards.

I am running the exact same tyres and sizes, on 8.5 X 19 fronts and 9.5 X 19 rears all with ET32 and lowered on Eibach Pro-Kit springs - no rub at all. Quite strange that you are having problems.

yea very strange. I'll try to investigate today to make sure and be 100% that its definitely rubbing. I'm running PSS on 225m wheels anyways.

I don't think you're having rubbing issues but rather the sound is coming from elsewhere? i.e wheel bearing, power steering pump, something only noticeable at full lock and low speeds.

hmmm possible stu... I mean I can see some marks that looks like scrubbing on the oil cooler on the front right wheel arch.

I am running Michelin PSS 235/35/19 on 19x9 ET35 & 275/30/19 19x10 ET38. I am pretty sure it's rubbing on the oil cooler grill. The 1M's have a similar problem with tyres rubbing on the front fender. They have similar front wheel and tyre specs to mine. The new updated replacement fender has a cut out for extra tyre clearance. See Ian///M's post on this in the 1Addicts thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=24 This might be what you are experiencing.
