DP Fix Success
Hey I know there are a lot posts about the BMS DP Fix, but I just wanted to leave my feedback.
I have GIAC Stage 2 with full exhaust. Installed DP Fix around noon cleared all codes and drove for maybe 50 miles. Got emissions done the same afternoon and passed without a problem. I have seen some posts saying that it is OK to leave DP Fix installed and others saying that I should remove it until I have to do emissions again. Just wanted some clarification on that. Thank you. |

I believe Terry recommended you remove it. Basically, from what i undersand, it modifies your O2 readings so that your car doesnt show any errors (for the inspection), these readings in turn modify how your car responds and its tune/AFR. Leaving it in wont necessarily kill the engine, but it wont run 100% either.
*I could be wrong but i could have sworn Terry said this....*

I took mine out for same reasons. Error on the safe side.

I'm interested in this as well. I currently still have mine installed. I'm wondering how it's better to continue to throw codes/SES as opposed to leaving the fix in.

it should not be used along with a tune for the reasons mentioned above. If you don;t need it now remove it.

What if you don't have a tune? I don't have a tune, yet. I would think that the ratios would still be off if I removed the fix, but I honestly don't know the answer.

it's more of an issue when you are running hot, and you want the DME to get unbiased results

^^+1...I installed it so I can pass emissions with StageII. I was otherwise throwing O2 codes.

GIAC can disable the O2 codes, if you ask them. They did for me, when I had GIAC.
However do NOT use the DP fix except for emission passing. It causes a lot of trouble and you car basically won't function 100% properly. I a car with JB4 and DP fix that had big problems because of it (it was removed and everything went back to normal).

It's a hit and miss...it has an adjustment knob, you have to play with that.
