Wow, $350 for a single front sway bar. And how can the part number be the same for the i and xi front?

That is list. Hit up any vendor and get it for cheaper. **********s has them both for $500.

Also, I bet they are the same bar. Economies of scale ftw. CP-E did the same for their downpipes (which BTW are fantastic!).

I'll take that as a compliment! We're looking into it.

My guess is that that is a mistake. The front subframes, and the sway bars that attach to them, are completely different. I don't think it would be possible to have one bar that fit both cars.

I was super skeptical, too. I called and H&R confirmed the fitment. Wouldn't be the first time a company fibbed about fitment *cough*VK Motorwerks*cough*. We'll have to wait until someone tries it.

However, Dan, if another producer were to enter the market it might not be a bad thing. Let me know if you need a volunteer for test fitment.

Well I tried it. The H&R front sway bar does NOT fit on the xi car!!!
The link above showing H&R's application listing has been revised and H&R no longer lists the front sway bar as fitting the xi.
I ordered mine from TireRack so hopefully I'll be able to return it without any hassle.
So it looks like we eather deal with UUC BS or Dan, it's up to you.

That sucks! If Tire Rack gives you hassle, I would contact H&R and try to get them to foot the bill.

If a vendor took a stock bar, made a jig from it, and then used solid 27mm billet that would be the perfect bar for our cars. A cherry on top would be adjustability.

This past weekend at Summit Point, I spoke to one of the techs at the shop I use and they are looking into hacking up the stock bar seeing if they can work something out.

I would not modify the stock bar. The reason is that it is hollow, lightweight and not as stiff as a solid bar. The straight section on the H&R bar only need to be a few inches longer to bold up to the subframe...then it would work for both cars. probably like UUC built...although I've never seen one...

Light is good. Inner/Outer diameter aren't the only determining factors in how stiff a bar is.

They are one of the top BMW race shops in the country...they have a few tricks up their sleeves.

I got mine two years ago from **********s during their black friday sales event in addition to KW V3. Car just glides around corners. Doesn't look like MB carries UUC anymore though....

I have contacted numerous vendors and all have told me they no longer do business with UUC. Mine have been on back order for months. It really sux.

Bars on back order

I just tried to order a set and they're on "back order" with a ~2 week wait time. Sad face.

Contrary to what I'm seeing on this thread, TC of TC Kline Racing told me to just get the front bar for the xDrive. He said the rears wouldn't do much.

Those H&R bars don't mention the xDrive explictly and their complete application list only mentions springs and coil overs for the 335xi sedan.

Last edited by bumbleB335; 07-26-2012 at 02:44 PM.. Reason: adding "xi" to the H&R bit.

have both UUC front and rear on my car and love them, UUC has pretty awful customer service but luckily i got these. BTW the rear bar made WAY more of a difference then the front. Just make sure you really grease up the front or they will start to make noise on you

After 10 months, I final recieved an email stating that they could not ship my product because my credit card was rejected. Damn right it was!

10 months and not one returned phone call or email. I will contribute no money to UUC. Ever.

Yup, this was also our experience. We finally got product, only to find that the company sent us a front RWD bar (wrong application), and the rear bar contacted the control arms at full extension. We sent everything back and gave up.

I still intend to make front bars for the xi, but we've got some other projects going on that we have to complete first.

Let me know if you need a local for test fitment/measurement.

Garage List
I wonder if VAC Motorsports can make them?

I'm in Philly and will inquire if VAC could make front and rear sway bars for my 335xi. Anybody else near Philly interested?
