Thanks. Below is a brief DIY for a $40 brake makeover kit.
Things needed: -Dupli-Color High Performance Caliper Paint Kit with Ceramic (color of your choice) -Q-tips -decal if desired (ordered mines from saifsiddiqui here) -wire brush -towel -clear coat -plastic bags The caliper paint kit came with everything needed. Brake cleaner, a paint brush, paint, and a mixing stick. Step 1: Clean calipers. Depending on your calipers, you might want to have a wire brush handy. Step 2: Once cleaned, I used my index finger and q-tips to apply the paint instead of the brush included to avoid brush lines. The q-tips was used to reach the places my finger was too big to fit (no pun intended). SN: Not sure if the brush would leave lines or not, I'm just paranoid. This paint is great, pretty glossy, and dries quick so I only did 1 coat. Step 3: After letting the paint dry for about 20 minutes, I put on the decals. Step 4: To prevent flaking and peeling, I covered the rotors with bags and added a coat of clear to top it off. The paint should last as long as the life of the car unless you go at it with sandpaper.

I'm not usually a fan of painted calipers, but those blue are tasteful and sharp. Nice work.
Those yellow caliper covers. Lol I always new hondatech would finally invade and eat our souls! |

I bought my car used and the housing of the calipers were all rusty in addition to the rotor hats. I tried MGP caliper covers first and it looked too ricey but they also did not fit with my VMRs. So, I reverted to Rust Oleum 248659 Rust Reformer which converts the rusty area (after sanding) into a flat paintable surface. I then bought high temp (1000F) oven paint at Ace Hardware (flat black). They (caliper housing and rotor hats) look good and no signs of peeling and if they do I have plenty of paint left over.
Sorry, bad iPhone pics, Winter setup, and they need a good cleaning. I'm considering StopTech or Forge next year. They are 1000x better than they were (all rusty):

Great thread OP. Definitely agree that our stock calipers look awful, but I really can't justify a bbk. I want to paint them a subtle color. Don't want to look like a ricer though...

The blue looks great. BTW, a blue very similar to that shade of blue is now the "official" color of the BMW performance brakes, Saw them on an M5 last week at the dealer, they look awesome.

Very nice!
I wish ST would have the option for a silver color rotor hat for those of us with silver wheels.
