Exhaust for 335 SEDANS
Ok Guys I have been looking for an Exhaust for a couples of days now and YES I have hit the key 100000 times.
I have questions: Seems that most companies makes exhaust just for coupes ( like magnaflow and britalman ) Is there a real different between coupes and sedan underneat. I know sedans have resonators instead of x pipes but on a full exhaust as well as catbacks is there really a difference ????????? Are the curves underneat different that prohibit even catbacks to be " unisex " ???? |

It was too loud for my tastes but I had other people tell me that they like it. The tips are 3.5" rolled tips. That means they don't look like coffee cans like some "other" specialty tips out there....

The sedan is actually shorter than the coupe by an inch or two. cp-e makes an exhaust for both. www.cp-e.com

I was a little worried by this comment...
"Of course the main purpose of upgrading any exhaust system is to improve the sound characteristics of the vehicle. " However, their website dynos show the exhaust making more power and torque. More than the 5 or so hp BMW claims for their twice as expensive exhaust. |

I have the RennArt resonated exhaust on mine, sounds great. Not sure of how my hp/tq i am making now since finding a dyno in Germany is kind of hard but there is a huge improment over stock. And i still have RR catted dp to install/ waiting on O2 sims to come in.

That is part of the cp-e description. Here's the full text:
"Of course the main purpose of upgrading any exhaust system is to improve the sound characteristics of the vehicle. What is different about our system however is that it isn’t designed for the weekend racer. Although it would more than fit the bill for any track enthusiast. Our exhaust was designed for the discriminating enthusiast who wishes to improve the driving experience of his/her daily driven 335i. To that end, we have tuned the exhaust system to produce virtually no drone and the increase in volume over the stock system is quite modest. In other words, your ears will not be ringing after a trip to and from work. However the change in the tone and character of the sound is substantial. The change brings a deeper, and more exotic sound much like that of a Ferrari V-8. We welcome you to listen our sound clips below to hear what our exhaust system sounds like for yourself!" They also post dynos of with both torque and horsepower. The numbers are +12 whp/+9 ft-lbs |

What you are saying are opposites.
Borla catback means a muffler system Straight pipes means no mufflers, hence, straight pipes

Borla is a good solid company that I have been using forever, especially for racing. They are not as flashy compared to others with their highly polished mufflers, etc, but are a good buy for those who appreciate function over style.
After having removed that atrocious stock system, I now believe hp claims of +15hp or so! |

I just put a Magnaflow catback exhaust on and I must warn you - it does drone. It sounds awesome but the drone at low rpm is not nice!!! I am trying to find out about putting on resonators to help reduce it.
