Sean's E90 Journal...

Well the Leon has finally gone after browsing around looking at BMWs and finding out BMW themselves are/were offering massive discounts on the current E90 models as they need to shift their stock for the incoming F30 model. Coupled with a decent P/X price for the Leon I decided to go for it.

So I present to you my 2011 BMW 318d Sport Plus Edition in white.

It comes with heated leather seats, rear parking sensors, DAB radio, iPod connectivity, 18" Antracite Alloys & RFTs.

This was a pre-registered car owned by BMW themselves and when I picked it up it had only done 160 miles. One week in I am gaining about 47.8mpg on average for urban driving and 52.5mpg for motorway driving.

December 2011, I picked her up on the 20th January, could not believe how cheap this worth literally saved 9k off list price.

Sticking with BMWs for a good while and hopefully the next BMW I buy I can do an ED trip.

Cheers mate I origiinally wanted a 320d but was v impressed with the 318d engine and picked that. Surprising this was the 4th car I found while searching after the first 3 I chose were sold while I was negoiating prices. Seems like their stock of nearly new cars literally flew out the door.

Thank you for all your comments guys!

Now I am not planning to modify this car much due to the fact it is still under it's 3 year warranty as you get from BMW themselves.

But I had to make one change to the car and that was to replace the chrome kidney grilles as they look horrible and wanted to replace them with black grilles, problem is they cost over £85 for the two parts from BMW themselves. Luckily I found a set of grilles which had been wrapped in carbon up for sale on E90post and promptly snapped them up.

The car with chrome grilles.

Halfway there...

The finished article.

Future plans include getting rid of the RFTs and possibly replacing alloys with a set of 19s VMRs.

Great looking car, I always thought the E90 LCI BMW addressed what was wrong with the original design.

Get some Silver Vision indicator bulbs (takes the orange tinge away) and I'd also recommend some LED bulbs for the Corona Rings (aka Angel Eyes), the LUX Brand based in america just released some, they aren't the cheapest but they are pretty much the brightest out there and will give off a similar look to the 2010 LCI Coupe and the F10 5 Series.

Cheers for the suggestions mate, is there any specific Silver Vision indicator bulb types I need to get?.

If you are on a budget then these on ebay should fit, they do on my E46 but don't quote me that they do fit the E90 (though I don't see why not)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1606207155...ht_1158wt_1041

If you also think the actual headlight bulb's are a bit dim/yellow then Philips X-Treme Vision bulbs are a nice upgrade too for actual light usage.

The indicator bulbs in the lci are not that easy to replace. The only silver ones are the ones used in the m3 and they come with an m3 price tag. The ones in the link above won't fit.

Anyway, nice car.

Oh really? I thought the modern ones still use a 581 fitment for the front indicators.
