Sorry, wastegate one more time.

Soo i just posted this the other day but it was on someone else's post.
Anyway.

I just called my local bmw dealer.
service said that just rattle doesnt constitute turbo replacement.
Wtf. It only happens once every two or three times i start my car.
But when it does. It sounds sooo shitty.
Does anyone know what makes it come and go?
I was all happy thinkin i was gonna get new turbos and this service individual kinda just discouraged me alot
They said it has to be losing boost as well.

If so, should I go to another place to get my boost levels checked rather than the stealership? So atleast Ill have an idea going into them trying to get new ones.

Any help would be phenomenal.

Getting new turbos is easier said then done. The noice is probably comming from your wastegate actuator starting to go bad,if so they won't replace the turbos unless the wastegate goes bad and starts effecting the trubos themselfes. In the case of loosing boost, check your chargepipe for cracks or leaks wouldn't be bad idea to get an aftermarket one. If you get the jb4 g5 you can control that noise much better good luck.

Jb4 is next month when i get my bonus. I am hesitant though because Im hitting 70k on the near future.

So map 5 auto learns and fixes it a bit or do I need to adjust maps?

I too wanted to comment regarding the wastegates. How many of you took your car in for the service bulletin? What were the results? Any trouble at the stealership? I emailed a local dealer and they were being strict about it. Then I emailed another dealership about the Recall and mentioned the wastegate bulletin and they said they would be happy to fix the rattle if actually found defective along with doing the recall.

Im waiting for my KCAN cable to come in the mail so I can register my battery and clear a airbag light and then take it to the dealer for wastegate rattle/recall. I will be sure to post results along with how it broke down with the dealer.
