320D low beam warning

Hi

I have a 2005 320D. I've started to get the low beam warning on the dash saying the bulb has gone, but they work.

Had a diagnostic done on the car and have been told that i need to replace the footwell lighting ecu as that thinks both headlight bulbs are blown but they ain't.

Have been told that it shall cost about £450 to do this. Was hoping there may be a way for me to remove the lighting ecu that is in the footwell or disable it as I know they lights ain't working and would like to spend the money elsewhere to be honest.

Thanks
