5mm or 10mm spacers for front
I have a e90 w/sport package w/162's lowered on PSS9's. I measured the gap and looks like I have close to 3/4" from the rim lip to the inside of the fender...
Should I go with a 5mm, 10mm or 12mm spacer in the front? I am planning on doing 15mm spacers in the rear. Any feedback on which spacers people have used on the stock wheels/tires lowered? Thanks! |

12 or 15mm all round. 5mm aren't worth it.. they make little difference appearance wise, but limit the amount of hub lip considerably

I run 5's up front, would never go more than maybe a 10mm.

I have 20mm in the rear, running similar setup to yours (not lowered, but my OEM 189s are the same width as your 162s). I have been considering adding a 5mm in the front to just get everything a bit more flush but have decided against it (1) because i have read posts on here that say the really small spacers are really difficult to get off and generally are more annoying to deal with because they are so thin, and (2) when you look at an M3 or another stock, well set up car it seems the front wheels are usually tucked in just a tad more than the rears. By no means is my reasoning scientific, but I think putting any more than 5s or 10s up front could be a handling impediment. I definitely noticed a difference with the 20mm in the rear, theres got to be a reason they increased the rear track on the 2009s. That being said 20mm rear, 5mm would look good in the front from an appearance perspective. If you are only going with 12s pr 15s in the rear, I think anything up front might end up looking more flush in front than in the rear which I dont think you would want. Ok, I know that was long winded. Good luck |

+1. Any 10mm or larger spacer should have an extended hub lip. 5mm spacers don't, and if the inner hub of your wheel has a beveled edge, the wheels will not be sitting on a hub lip and may cause vibrations.

Thanks guys for all the feedback! Much appreciated... Ya, by my measurements, I have plenty of room to bump the rims out, but don't want to rub if I go too far. I would say I have at least 3/4" front and rear... should I go 20mm rears and 10mm fronts? Anyone do this setup or have pics?
