power connectors

VP -
I got the power connectors and the pins look kinda small.

I can open them up to solder them onto the wire, but the stem of the pin looks like a 30 amp fuse.

did you do anything special with them?

I did not, but if you need a lot of current, this is not the best path.

As I said elsewhere, I was thinking about ordering an E60 battery terminal to get more outputs inside the OEM distro.

Interested since it would be a good option if you're running multiple amps. For mine, I just crimped the 4 AWG in the connector. It didn't crimp all the way around but I heatshrinked around the entire crimp to ensure that the wires that didn't get crimped at least stay in contact with the connector. The heatshrink is actually squeezed into the base of the plastic housing so the wire can't really move aroudn in there.

Bumping an old thread here, but I see it was never updated to show the construction of your fiberglass enclosure for the E91. How did that turn out? I have an E91 and have been considering glassing an enclosure for it too.

Turned out like I never have done it.

My car has ended up being the test-and-validation sled for many, many different amps, speakers, and processors over the last year or so. I'm in the process of getting it back into good shape for demo (was just testing a new, high-performance E92-capable mid with various tweeters). One more test - new DSP device from Germany - and then I hope to finish it off in a showable demo form. I'll start a new thread for that.

Any issues with increased cabin noice/squeaks/creaks or damage to body panels since your car was taken apart so much?

Thanks for the reply; I'm looking forward to the new build thread!
