I have a question...
Alright guys i have some VMR VB3s with 225/35/19s on them now, which need replacing, I found some 225/40/19s for pretty cheep. will these work? I practically know nothing about tires so i appreciate all the help. Oh and I have an e92 328i if that helps at all.
Thx Oh the rims are 19 x 10 Last edited by SamHyde; 08-04-2010 at 10:53 PM.. |

I'd stick to a 35 profile tire.

Surely the 19x10" rims are on the rear. 225/35/19 is more commonly used as front tyres and aren't suitable for a 10" wide wheel. So I am confused - are you looking for tyres for front or rear?

225/40 normally wouldn't be good for an E90, but that would be on a standard 8 or 8.5" wide rim. on a 10" rim, which I don't recommend running a 225 tire, the 225/40 may work solely on the fact that the tire will be hella stretched. I have seen some vdubbers running a 225 on a 10" wheel, so it is do-able. If you want to under size your tires, I would go with a 245/35-19 on the 10" rim.

Are you positive you were running a 225/35/19 on a 19x10 wheel? Or did you mistaken that with the 19x8.5" front? If so, 225/40/19 is a tall tire either way and would cause rubbing issues up front. I would recommend a 225/35 or a 235/35.

what offset are you running op front on a 19x10? 225/35/19 will have to be the way to go to allow any kind of travel without eatting your front end.
and its an e92? that has even less room a 40 series wont do. |
