12 mm or more and 5mm or less won't have this effect.
Here is a pic of 10mm spacer whose lip has been guillotined

Ok i think I understand, and what if you are not using a hubcentric wheel to begin with?

The season is only starting, why the hurry?

This I can't answer Is it even recommended?

I was lucky I did this with my winter wheels, and given the car sat mostly in the garage in winter, I did not put a lot of kms on it. Quite sobering when I put back my summer wheels. Had I done this for track, I can't imagine the ensuing disaster.

Then you should um, sell it and start again

AFAIK non-hub-centric wheels are not recommended with spacers - maybe you can get spacers that are also centering rings. Sounds expensive, and PLEASE don't track with that. Spacers are already somewhat iffy (although I was OK with 10mm on the rear).

At all levels!

On the subject of hockey, we will never go far without a great goalie and many more bigger (and talented) players! Let's not kid ourselves otherwise. Regular season is not the WAR it is in the playoffs.

Well I suppose I will get 12mm spacers and get proper hubcentric rings

I honestly don't recommend tracking with lug centric wheels. It's an unnecessary failure point. My winter wheels are lug centric and I just can't get rid of a very slight vibration, no matter what I do - rebalanced them, changed bolts, etc. You don't want this at higher speeds. Plus, wheels heat, centering rings are plastic... and metal ones expand... I dunno. I don't think anyone has enough experience with this to really say.

However! If you're talking street wheels, then never mind this entire diatribe

Alright, we are moving in the right direction, I removed my rear wheels and realised the metal rings I had actualy fitt perfectly, so im back in hubcentric mode in the rear.
As for the front I need to order a set of 79.5-72.6 metal rings and Im talking with Ryan of motorsport hardware to get another set of 12mm spacers to replace mine.

Woohoo!

From the "i build shit in my garage and hope it works" dept: after stinking up the entire house in the middle of the night when I took off the fuel pump and leaked petrol all over the garage (lesson for future: close the door to the ventilation room and shut the damn thing off when working on petrol-related components), I am happy to report that I drove the car to work and nothing fell off and I do not believe any fuel leaked and fuel delivery seems normal! Stage 2+, here we come tomorrow.

Hello,

I stumbled onto this thread, looking for Montreal members. This group seems pretty active.

I'm picking up a Z4 35is tomorrow and wanted to know if I can join this thread and group, even though I do not drive a 3 series. I lived in NY most of my life and moved to Montreal a few years ago.

Thanks

Yes you may join this thread! Not everyone drives a 3 series. We have an M coupe in the group amongst other cars! It's just a Montreal thread.

NO! ONLY 3-SERIES ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!

j/k. As long as you're not a douche, you're more than welcome. This began as a 3-series thread, but for instance I don't even drive a BMW anymore, never mind a 3-series, and it would appear I am not (too much of) a douche as I still haven't gotten banned

Lol... It's more of a car enthusiast forum now and not really a 3 series forum.

Too bad you missed a meet we has thus past weekend.

Are you suggesting you are fast enough to stay ahead of people? j/k

I would say either call Seb to see if he has time in between all his racecar builds, or I would go to Autobar, but just make sure you stay there and watch them do it - Owen is an awesome guy that does absolutely excellent work, but his crew can be sloppy, so when I do work there now I always stand there watching every single step they take. After I started doing that, I've been ultra-happy with the work they've done.

Talk to Owen, tell him Glen who coded his BMW sent you, you won't get a discount, but it's nice to refer people anyway.

Like I said, stick around while they do the work. An exhaust is not exactly rocket science, so it should be fine. I know GeWoW had some issues there, but I'm satisfied, and the time I had an issue when they put on my Mini's exhaust, Owen owned up to it and made it far more than right (after Canbec fked it up hardcore trying to fix it, heh, ask me about that story)
