H&R sport cup kit, anyone have them?

I've been doing research and decided since I don't track my car coilovers are overkill. I know everyone loves eibach pros and koni yellows, but I want a low agressive stance. To me the the eibachs look only slightly lower then my sport suspension. I thought maybe koni yellows and H&R sports but I still don't think ill be happy with the ride height. I like the ride height of the H&R race springs but I don't think they will mesh well with the konis. So Ive been looking into the cup kits and the sport kit has race springs with struts to match its spring rate. I'm about to pull the trigger but has anyone experianed the ride quality?

THe ride on the H&R race is pretty harsh. Not sure what's not to like about the H&R sports. They're as close to slammed as you can go without actually being there. The wheels are just a hair short of tucked.

Thought about buying the cup kit with the sport springs. It's a good setup, but DON'T DO IT. Believe it or not, cup kits are ONLY FOR E90s .

Your comments: "I hate harsh rides " and "I like the ride height of the H&R race springs " don't play well together. You may be looking for something that doesn't exist.

Looks like you already figured it out. Even though most are riding on the sport springs with the Koni Yellows, the race springs are also compatible. Considering that the Koni yellows are adjustable, you can adjust the dampening to your comfort with these springs. Another good alternative suspension for a good price will be the ST Coilovers. Even though they are coilovers, they're about the same price as a spring/shock combo.

Cup Kits do fit on the E92s as well. Several people on here have them. And the Sport springs in the Touring Cup Kit are supposedly a fantastic ride quality.

Well the ST I heard are prone to rust and in ny we don't get great winters. Also when I said harsh I mean super rough. Ofcourse I expect the car to ride harder than stock especially once that low. I like the idea of konis and the race springs but I think I remember reading that koni struts aren't for the race spring rate. Which is why I like the idea of the H&R cup kits only because I know the sport cup kit has the race spring with a strut that is appropriate for he race spring rate.

subscribed.

Its between H&R sport cup kit + H&R front and rear sway bars, or KW ST Coils + H&R front and rear sway bars for me.

In addition to replacing upper strut mounts, and rear shock mounts, and few bushings, it'll be awhile before I get them.

That's not true. The cup kit can be used on both E90/E92 since the suspension parts are interchangeable.

They sure will bolt on fine, but there is more to fitting properly. E90 and e92 weight different, so maybe the springs are too stiff an application. I let the OP clarify his intention, if he knows better than my random speculations.

If you take the time to search around you will find that several people are using the cup kit on their e92's without a problem. I'm not sure why it isn't listed on H&R's website, that's a mystery to all of us.

Or you can just contact VRSF since they have "E90/E92" listed in their sale thread in the vendors section.

I did research on them a while back asking follow members, different sites, and H&R website and kept finding the same answer. The cup series kits are only for E90s. If you do a search on cup kits on here, I'm sure you'll find an old post from me with the same thing i'm telling you. It's no biggie, I was just sharing what I was told. It's good to know that people are running them on e92s now. Thanks for the update.

ST's are prone to rust yes that's why they're marketed mostly for West Coast people since we are not exposed to the elements like the Mid-West/East Coast. KW are more suitable for all weather.

Speedfan on the forums runs H&R Touring cup kit, if anyone knows Vietnam roads, you know they are pot holes galore, no problem for him, all age groups have no complaints with ride quality. Hopefully that clears that up.

I'm using ST's and I'm happy with them, wife and baby are not complaining and they hate low cars.

I just installed the Sport Cup Kit on my 07 e90 two weeks ago. The stance is extremely low (tires slightly tucked or even with fenders). I have 20mm spacers in the rear and 10mm spacers up front. I enjoy the stiff ride but do not like the slightly bouncy feel that this setup gives. All in all the handling is superb, but between the slightly bouncy feel and rear tires rubbing over medium-large highway bumps, I think I would have rather gone with the Touring Cup Kit.
