The Z4 is a MT so it iwll mke things even more intereting

Its not all about power but effieciency. Having a less restrictive air intake of denser colder air, opposed to sucking in engine bay heat, results in less wgdc @ more boost

I will be detailed as possible with the ECS kit no defferent from what I did with the aFe Stage 2 Elite
Since the airbox/filter is not much of an bottleneck, it will be interesting to see what difference it will make.

Gains are to made made with custom inlets – you can easily calculate that (@400hp on factory inlets the speed of airflow is more than mach 0.5!) and that is why Alpina changed them. As you know there are proven solution addressing that bottleneck (TTF, VTT, MMP ...).

I think it's more for cosmetic reasons, but nevertheless looking forward to your results.

At $700, you might as well save up a bit more for the TFT inlets instead. No intake that utilize stock inlets are worth that much money.
That is a good point but when you add the install cost/time its more that 700 for inlets.

Im probably going to get the VSRF inlets. i dont want to relocate a bunch of stuff under the hood like you need to do with TFT
I think with the vrsf inlets you still have to relocate a couple things like the tft and mmp inlets.

Yes I know the vtt inlets don't need any relocating but the inlets vrsf are coming out with will be the same style inlets as the tft and mmp. But the price is going to be way better I'm very sure

Ecs intake plus vtt inlets = $1200.00 ..... tft inlets = $1500.00 I think I would go with the ecs/vtt combo but then again tft comes with the hot side chargepipe

One thing I don't like is that it's not 100% sealed. I'm going to fix that, but still an inconvenience.

Agreed.... they need to come out with a rubber boot for the intake arms that extend out of the box to the turbo inlets to completely seal the box for better vacuum. The cover looks like it will need a gasket to also completely seal the box for better vacuum.

I can make gaskets but it should be an optional accessory

Let me know what you make dimitri. I'm willing to pay if you can develop a custom solution to seal this beautiful air box.

By the way if anyone is looking to get a tune don't hesitate to ask dimitri/buraq. He is an awesome dude and I'm actually going to get a tune from him once I get my stage 2 pump installed.

Used to be a huge ECS supporter, after my buddy bought a set of rotors for his car and he was given wrong size and no New pair given that has changed.

Looks like a nice intake.

Time to play....however there is some prep stuff that I am going to do and pass it on the ECS for possible revision. So far I like what I see and feel. I will post a detail review within the next two weeks as I am going to be seriously busy with this project and trying to tune customer's cars also

$700 intake?!?! That's absurd just to buy it for looks. Could save $600, buy dci and get 4 less whp, no brainer here.
