any idea how much to switch transmissions

Just out of curiousity, if someone wanted to switch transmissions from an auto to manual ? Let's assume the MT parts are paid for, what kind of labor costs are we talking about?

thanks in advance,
k

Not sure but you also have to code the car for a manual transmission as well as change the diff ratios...I think.

Cheaper to sell the car and buy a manual, IMO.

especially when you factor in future resale value. when the avg person finds you've swapped transmission they are gone.

If that's the case, I'd like to trade someone my '07 328i auto for a 6 sp. manual. I miss shifting and have been thinking about this very same thing.

I would be willing to bet it would be darn near impossible to find someone in my neck of the woods to program the car for the manual.

Way too much work to swap one to another. These aren't 1969 Corvettes.
