Cool Bits 'n Bobs Added & Car Detailed

So, finally finished my list of tweaks and put the icing on the cake today with a full detailing session with Nick from Polish Perfection (great guy, phenomenal skills - detailing included 3 different polishes (machine and manual), sealants, foam, 3 layers of hard wax and all sorts of other goodies). Anyway, the bits I've put on previous to today's monster session are:

• BMW Performance Kidneys (Genuine)
• BMW Performance Front Splitters (SSDD)
• BMW M3 Lip Spoiler (eBay)
• MV3 Rims refinished in Ferric Grey

First up, here's the before shot:

And now...

Nice eh

EDIT: heres a run-down of the detailing: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=692408

That looks fantastic.
I'm not sure if it's the clean, angle of photography or what, but those wheels look immeasurably better (I mean MILES!) with that coat of paint on

Very nice indeed.

Some dark line rear lights would finish that off a treat.

Cheers

I'd like to take credit with the photography, but I think its just a great paint job

(Plus there are blacked out centre caps but they are going back to standard ones in the next couple of days)

No black lines for me I'm afraid, even the official ones look aftermarket to me so not a fan...

I'm not usually a fan of mods, but I think it is probably the best example of a modded e90 I have seen. I would have kept the blue badges on the wheels, but the colour of the wheels is spot on. Been pondering going gun metal grey /black on a set of 162s, looking at yours, I think I'm sold.
I spent 500 on a professional detail on mine 2 years ago and it's top of the list for any modding project. I don't know why more people do it. Totally transforms the car and can last for years.
Laavly motor mate.

Wheel colour works really well with the colour? Is the ferric grey the BMW colour used on the later LCI MV3s?

Also are the front splitters bonded on ? Just thinking about getting them and if they'd be reversible. (also have you got a link for the spliiters as I can't see them on the SSSD site)?

I don't like them either.

But the car looks great I kind of the like the centre caps too - looks quite unusual.

Yeah it is indeed the same colour used on more recent MV3s...

The splitters are 3m tape at the top and screwed into the bumper (using existing screws and holes, no modification needed) at the bottom...

Here they are on SSDD: http://www.ssdd-motorsport.com/show_...hp?prod_id=601

Ah I saw the Carbon fibres ones but though they might have done a primered version ready for painting that might have been a bit cheaper. Did they require much prep as I'd imagine just painting would have shown up the carbon effect through the paint?

Who did the wheels for you and what did it cost, also you got a paint code?

Sorry for all the Q's - but you will show off and people will take inspiration

The car looks great. I like the centre caps.

I'd also be interested in a link to the front splitters please.

No they are the CF ones in the link, they come lacquered and then the body shop primed and painted them... there is certainly no weave showing through...

The wheels were done by Planet Wheels in Aldridge, cost was £48 per wheel and Ferric Grey has a paint code of A80

Thanks for that. Do they hang much lower than the bottom of the (already low) M Sport bumper just may be paranoid that I'd catch them on kerbs.

Any side on close ups of them?
