Hi, looking at new tyres for the rear, still using BMW M225 rims but will change the rims later.
Should I stick to the factory 255/30R 91Y?
The kumho KU39 is $304 each
There is another brand called Falken which is $315 each from tyresales.com

May I ask which one of these are better?
I drive my 335i daily and will not track, however sometimes I drive it a bit aggressively.

With the Goodyear eBay seller, it seems like he offers free shipping.
Also, it's 265/30/R19, so, there is 0.3cm difference in thickness compared to the stock tyres, am I correct?
new tyres thickness = 265*30%=79.5
Stock tyres thickness = 255*30%=76.5

Haha you're overthinking it

265 30 19 is a common 'upgrade' for us guys... The 0.3cm difference is bugger all (tyres new have say 9mm of tread and discard at 1.5mm so the overall diameter difference from new to old is 15mm!)

I haven't had any experience of the Kumhos, but I've had the top line Falken Tyres and I hated them. They were fine for lateral grip, but useless at getting power to the road.

When I researched my last set of tyres, I found alot of reviews where there the sidewalls had given up on Goodyear tyres. This didn't surprise me since Goodyear and Dunlop are related and I personally have experienced 2 sidewall failures on fairly new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres. I binned the whole set with less than 10k kms on them.

If you don't need to go with runflats i'd recommend Bridgestone Potenza Adrenaline RE001 or RE002. I didn't like the RE003 quite as much but it was still an exceptional tyre.

Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres were surprisingly good too. Fine at getting power down with a little less lateral grip. They made the car very chuck-able and great fun on a twisty road.

Just my 2c though.....

probably not the best tyres in the world nor the worst either
for my normal driving around town purposes its more than good enough
i got all 4 for 930$ with an alignment

Falken and kumho both suck. Get Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Best all around tire and cheap cause they last twice as long.

265/30/19?

I remember I read somewhere saying the sidewall is different than the normal tyres, is it true?
Will 265/30/19 rub the wheel arch?
Or should I go the standard 255/30/19?
Car has no suspension mod.

But I found that there are lots of 265/35/19, 275/35/19 rather than 265/30/19 on eBay.

Yeah they wont fit...

Remember that time my car was on those black 220M M3 rims at advan? That was a 35 series tyre...

Everyone was like man M3 rims on your car wont work!!!

I was kinda confident as there is a major difference in the tyre size between a 275/30 and a 275/35 i.e the 35 series is 27mm bigger in rolling diameter... (pushes the tyre up into the guards by 13.5mm compared to a 30 series)

Illegal to increase the rolling diameter by that much, will have the effect of 'gearing down' so your car is slower, speedo will underestimate your speed, will rub like crazy unless you are on bone stock suspension

I do remember how great they looked! Lol ?

I'll be on a 265 though, so I'm not sure I'll have the same clearance issues and can slightly raise the car if need be?

Tyres larger and heavier (increase in unsprung weight), will reduce your acceleration slightly because the wheels are bigger and has the effect of selecting a higher gear, it is reducing the amount of leverage the car has to the wheels.

Might not be that noticable but seeing as I can't see any benefit of increasing the profile I don't see why you would want to go to a 35
