M3 Wishbone links, Tesnion Links, and Strut Brace Installed!

It will just pop down.
If it doesn't then tap it with a rubber mallet from the bolt.
You will need to hold the bolt with a torx while loosening the nut.

However, now that I finished my M3 strut brace install, I have a few things to note:

1. I found out that my car has no second temperature sensor on the driver side! Up to a certain point of dismantling the car, the videos for the Procede install were quite helpful as an explanation on how to do it. Well, in Germany, I guess very few people have done that on their own.

2. The installation of the mount for the brace is rather tricky: There is a plastic part underneath the plastic holder for the wipers with two openings and two clipped-in bushings surrounding the old strut braces. This platic part is held in place by three screws. It is not so easy to get the new one-piece brace mount into place behind it, because a) the brace mount can only be inserted one way around and b) there is a central land behind it where the middle screw goes in. You have to bend the plastic shield a bit upwards to make the brace mount go in and clip on the bushings after that. Last, pull the ASA bolt tight (this can be reused from the original strut brace).

3. In my case, the four studs 51-717-898-374 came preinstalled with the O-rings, so I could not replace those by bolts. I used four instead of two hex bolts 07-11-9-904-401 for the other connection. Also, the holes in the O-rings were both of the same size, so that the caps fitted perfectly symmetrically.

So, my parts list was (sorry for the german names):

Great, so I don't have to use my own pictures... That was what I meant with the plastic part, it is really tricky. One difference is that one of your O-rings has the dreaded smaller hole, whereas mine doesn't.

The specs I have are in Degrees of rotation and is fairly tight. My dealer printed them out for me.

Not sure how to convert that to ft-lbs, but if you have them, go ahead and post them. I'm doing them on my own, and I haven't found any access to an E82 shop manual yet. I could use my Bentley E36 manual and pick something close, but I was hoping for something better!

If you mean the wishbone and tension link installation, I did that last weekend, and I've been very happy. It's a nice improvement and gives the front end a little more grip. I'll likely do the rear suspension in the future.

No issues whatsoever.
The only thing that's noticeable is that the front wheels get pushed out more so if you are running an agressive offset in the front then you will be even more agressive after the wishbones.

I thought the wishbone only pushes the lower part of the wheels more, so the top part is more tucked in, thus look less agressive?

Assuming you just do the wishbones, then the top isn't moving. The bottom gets moved out. So the top of the tire will also move out, just not as much as the bottom. So you will have a little less tire clearance. I'm still on OE wheels/tires, so it's not an issue at all. It only would be an issue if you are already short on tire clearance.

is it possible to replace only the M3 tension link without the M3 wishbone?

Is the bushing of the M3 wishbone the same as the one of 335i? will the wishbone help only adding camber?

Yes, you can do the tension link only. No, the M3 wishbone has a much stiffer bushing than the 335i, so it would be good to do them both. Only the tension link is going to add negative camber. The wishbone is just going to give you a stiffer bushing.

It's the other way around

The wishbones add camber not the tension link.

Control arm to steering knuckle
M14 8.8 bolt (replace with new).....80Nm (59 ft-lb)
M14 10.9 bolt (replace with new)....165Nm (122 ft-lb)
Control arm to subframe
M12 8.8 bolt (replace with new).....68Nm (50 ft-lb) + 90 degree
M12 10.9 bolt (replace with new)....100Nm (74 ft-lb) + 90 degree

Road wheel to hub........................120 Nm (89 ft-lb)

Tension strut to steering knuckle (replace wit new).....165 Nm (122 ft-lb)
Tension strut to subframe
M12 8.8 (replace with new).....................................68 Nm (50 ft-lb) + 90 degree
M12 10.9 (replace with new)...................................100 Nm (74 ft-lb) +90 degree

Oops, you are correct. The ones that go side to side in the car add the camber.
