+1 that's the MULF unit, and if you check it probably already has bluetooth built into it, so no TCU is required unless you really really want (and pay for) BMW Assist.

You'll just need to code it properly and I believe swap a few wires around to activate the bluetooth.

Any idea how to check if I can just swap wires and code? Everyones telling me that I need a TCU. Also, I read a thread a while back that he used a bluetooth antenna?

The MULF supports bluetooth already. A TCU will require you to purchase a new roof switch unit.

You just need to add the bluetooth antenna (goes under the steering wheel) and a microphone if it's not already installed.

And in fact, the antenna doesn't REALLLLLLLY have to be the stock one, you can get away with an SMB-RPSMA adapter cable from Ebay and a cheap 2.4GHz duck antenna (like you find on the back of a wireless router) and leave it in the trunk.

First step is to get the coding done. Either DIY or get someone to do it, but then that way you can try to pair a phone, make a call, and you'll know everything will work once you add a mic (or rewire the one you might already have).

True.

Either way works. If the antenna wiring is under the dash, it's a 5 minute job and antennas can be found around for cheap.
