Not sure what you mean, but I had general anesthesia when I had my wisdom teeth taken out.

I was sedated too when I had my wisdom teeth taken out.

On the other side, my girlfriends dad is a dentist. He really only does sedations if little kids have tons of cavities or just wont cooperate and just scream or cry. I dont know that many adults get sedated for just cavities.

Actually, there are many adults who get sedated for routine cleanings and whatnot. I say grow a pair. People are scared of the dentist for various reasons. Basically any time you are sedated you are suppressing your central nervous system. This comes at a risk. Sure, 99.99% of the time you dont run into problems. Theres also that tiny percentage that you die. Thats scarier to me than going to the dentist. Man up.

For what, a routine cleaning? Hell no. My dentist is done in 10 minutes, no more than 15. He's usually got the latest technology to try out. Makes it real fast to get in and get out.

haha not routine cleaning I'm talking crowns, root canals and the such. I had a root canal/crown done about a year ago and that was just a horrible experience. Nothing too horribly bad, and I could suck it up again, but if I can pay another 100 bucks and not have to be awake to do it again... I think I'd want to.

And I had general anesthesia for wisdom teeth, I'm talking the more 'routine' practies (but not cleanings/cavities/etc)
