Least im enjoying several aspects to my car.

its a fun way yo go racing, much cheaper than a track day.

Providing you have a good driver, IT IS a good performance indicator.
So you want me to work out how to launch my car and then pull the levers at the right time? Try selling that to a 5 year old as a computer game and you'd be on to plums.
If it was manual i could see how doing a fast gear change required some skill to avoid clutch slip etc.
But i couldn't think of any more boring than just driving in a straight line with the accelerator pushed to the floor. Even if you do have to brake boost off the line. It's still not the skilled driving. I could get my mum to do a decent time. It's a sad day when a guy who used to race carts (and beat Hamilton was it) can only really point to the 1/4 mile as somewhere he excels Maybe the real drivers are elsewhere? Just a thought?

So when you drag race, you explore your car in full? How do you test high speed cornering for example? I've not seen many bends on 1/4miles but then i'm no expert.

Why would that be the case? I'm looking forward to this explanation.

Considering i drive a 335d now, that wouldn't be a deal breaker. It would just have to have decent gearbox (i.e one that didn't change up itself etc).

It would have to be able to live with the DXB though

I'm not saying you shouldn't enjoy drag racing. Or that YOU doing it is pointless.

I'm saying it doesn't prove much in terms of how good a car is. And so in my mind pointless comparing cars on that basis alone.

Look at the Top Gear or Ring lap times. That's a far better indication of a car's performance.

LOL...

ring times are all over the place, due to tyres used, traffic on the day and different drivers..
BUT YES A good indication.

Another indication is drag racing!

There are quite a few, certainly enough to start up a fledgling business:

E90POST Funeral Directors

You can just see the ad logo:
