Watches what do you wear
I was on a watch forum and the question was is your car in Balance with your Watch ,
Would you drive a battered up motor with a quality time piece ? So reverse the question would you wear say a cheaper end watch with your quality Car Brands I will start the ball drive a BMW and wear a Rolex Sea dweller and some others |

I've got the BMW car, but have the comparably cheap timepiece... a Citizen Eco Drive, that I love. I Like the look and weight of it, it never needs a new battery or service and it seems to keep very good time. I also have the old man Longines that I also wear occasionally.
Yes, I would like a nicer watch one day, but there's better things to blow my money on at present. As to the car vs watch comparison, with the amount of BMWs on the road, although they're a reliable brand, I would think most owners of Rolex and Omegas would buy them to go along with their Aston Martin or similar and not their BMW. |

I have a Rolex that my wife bought me for a wedding present and I did drive a 911. In 7 or so weeks I will be driving a mercedes c class..
A guy at work drives a crappy citron bx (£500) and has a Rolex... So I am not sure if that's a match |

I've got a Seiko Kinetic Titanium - It tells the time and the date perfectly..
I'm not into the whole status symbol of a watch/car. Function over form for me. My next watch will likely be a Chris Ward like this: http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men...c3swk-mk2.html

Scooba, you've got more watches than my local jeweller so guess you have a fleet of motors . Datsun / Omega Seamaster - 21st Birthday present off my folks - luckily I don't change my watch like my cars but would love a new one

Not sure about the correlation. I have worn the same Rolex every day that I bought 28 years ago. For the first 10 of those years I was driving Ford XRs and RSs.

Mercedes. Tag Heuer during the week, (40th birthday present from my wife). Omega Seamaster at the weekend, (although this is currently being repaired after a stag party 'incident').
I don't see the watches as a status thing, I just like them!

LOL.
Omega Seamaster Auto knock-about daily watch (for 15yrs) Bell & Ross BR01 Black Auto Chronograph for weekends etc. Seiko Auto Divers for other times. But if we're trying to make some 'status' level of it I think all these fancy £3/4/5/6K watches are WAY above the 'status' level of a mere 3 series. I would like a Tag Heur or something a bit more expensive, but I am happy with my watch, and I don't see it as a status symbol or anything, just a really nice watch. |

I wear a Breitling Aerospace that was bought by my wife as a wedding present. From the answers above it looks like most have a watch of more prestige than the car and many were presents (good work!) but that may be that the post title stands out more to those?

Agree,
The pricey watches on this thread are far more prestigious than any 3 series could ever be, they're just well made rep-mobiles after all. But that said, our neighbour has a 599 Fiorano in the garage of his £1M barn conversion, and he wears a £30 plastic casio digital. Last edited by doughboy; 05-20-2013 at 04:45 AM.. |

My watch is 2k give or take. The car was £40k give or take. I don't think having a watch worth 5% of a car is too outrageous.
I'm not in the breitling or rolex category of course. Some of the watches mentioned here are worth far more..

I did have an Omega Seamaster, 2 Tags, 2 G Shocks and about 4 Nixon (cheap fashion brand) watches. At the time I drove a Golf and latterly a Civic. The first 3 watches cost about as much as those cars.
I sold them all. I'm not sure when it happened but i just lost interest in watches and hated wearing anything on my wrist. I look at my phone if I want to know the time now. It feels slightly liberating knowing that I'm never wearing anything that people can judge my relative wealth or lack thereof on. On the topic though. My dad has 2 Rolex (would that be Rolexi?) and about 5 Seiko mechanicals which he seems to favour. He drives an N reg Mazda Bongo.

Use to have a Casio...I think it was nearly top of the range, about £30 8 years ago.
But since these things have come out given up wearing watches (also I'm not allowed to wear a watch at work due to infection control), tells me the time as well as any watch I've owned. Do like the looks of nice watches, but to be honest cannot justify to myself spending more than £30 on a watch...not when I still have a mortgage to pay off, and carbon fibre bits to buy for my pedal bike, infact I would have to spend £700 on a lighter crank set for the bike to compensate for having a heavy watch like a Rolex |
