Perhaps it would be safer to start him on the triangle.

To the violin, you mean Gordon, obviously?!

One of my hobbies is listening to music, so you could call me an audiophile.

I wrote a few articles a while back, for one of the true English audio loudspeaker manufacturers (Mission & their now-independent 'offspring' component company- Cyrus). That was after I bought one of their amps- I've never looked back since.

Sorry to be so 'obscene', but in my opinion, English audiophile equipment beats the sh*t out of anything built anywhere else on the planet.

Here's a few shots of my stuff.

All the best.

Ah ha!!!! I spy a full blown Cyrus pre x and 4(?) mono x power amps, with a couple of psxs thrown in the mix... nordost red dawn cable, but I can't quite work out which speaker you have - maybe 754 Freedom 5s..?

(Before I sound too geeky, let's just say I used to work in the audio industry)

Have a full Naim rig myself, into Dynaudio stand mounts.. oh, and a full Genelec active system for the movies!!

They are indeed 754 Freedom 5s, Tony! Bi-amped with 4 Mono X powers.

I've fancied trying out a pair of ProAc speakers for a while now, but just haven't got round to it.

What are you running into Tony- DBLs with Snaxos ?
Naim are based in Salisbury I think- another fine English audio company!

All the best.

Nooooo, I don't like the Naim speakers.. they're too, Naimy!! Running into Dynaudio Contour standmounts, with a modified old-school 72 preamp, Supercap, CDS2/XPS and a modded 180 power amp (all mods by Avondale Audio). Have used Proac Response 3.5s before in another system - sounded too warm and bloated in the midrange. Will be changing the Dynaudios for PMC OB2s soon. Used to have Cyrus gear, till the preamp went wrong too any times! My brother still has his old Cyrus 7 stuff, with original 753s.

Indeed, nothing else sounds like a Naim speaker!

I wrote a few articles in Club Mission & even got paid for it, a while ago.

I haven't been down to the Sound & Vision show in Bristol for a while now- might have to give it a go next February- the Cyrus boys & girls just get too 'rowdy' after a couple of drinks!

My hobby mostly involves spending money on gaming, be it consoles or full size arcade machinery :

PS3
xbox360 x2
Wii
DC x3
PS2
Gamecube
Projector AE-100

I have always had a love of Amusement Arcades since a kid, Blackpool was always a great trip to go and play on the latest arcades. Since I now have the room in my House I have a couple of cool toys, I have attached a couple of pictures below:

EgretII High Resolution Candy Cabinet imported from Japan

Addams Family Pinball

My missus thinks i'm nuts :-)

Doesn't matter how good you are .. you're in.

SO we've got you, me and beauforty on lead guitar and carlos fandango on percussion (triangle).

I reckon we could get Viv to sample some commodore 64 grooves as 'ambient' backing tracks.

wow tasty toys boys..

MODEL CARS

love the engineering on that RC pepper ! Stunning looking toy.

(i always preferred building them to actually driving them strangley enough, though my stuff was all tamiya, no where near as sophistcated as THAT !)

VIV

Welcome back Viv, byt the way.

Hi-Fi

NICE setup, how do your neighbours cope with that...

I'm into nice kit, but no audiophile so I'm more than chuffed with my pio Ax4ASi, running into Anthony Gallo ti Divas. backed up with a a velodyne SPLR1200 (I think, been a while since I boned up on it all )

CIGARS

Seriously have a humidor full of cohibas if anyone wants to relieve me of a few, I'd do a nice price - just can't smoke em fast enough.

GUNS

I wanted to get back into Air rifles, but just can't find a landowner who'd let me lose - no point otherwise.

Tresting stuff !

CONSOLES ET AL (!)

WOW !
