I have always had a love of Amusement Arcades since a kid, Blackpool was always a great trip to go and play on the latest arcades. Since I now have the room in my House I have a couple of cool toys, I have attached a couple of pictures below:

Nice - I have similar interests

4 PC's incl 2 mediacentre, a gaming rig and a pc in a breadbin for the kitchen!
Xbox 360, xbox, 2 ps2's, Dreamcast (sold my Wii - just didn't play it) Projector, plasma.
I also have a Race Drivin cabinet in the garage.

I also collect 1:18 road going Ferrari models. Haven't updated that in a while though.

I used to be a keen mountain biker (downhill) but stopped a few years ago - still have my trusty steed (klein mantra race)

What mediacentres do you have as a matter of interest? I have been considering one lately but not done any research.

They are self-creations if you know what I mean? Not bought off the shelf - I make them myself. If you want more info etc, just let me know.

Addams Family Pinball

My missus thinks i'm nuts :-)
Now that is a hobby- doing what you want, however ridiculous everyone thinks it is- excellent!

Used to play the Addams Family pinball in a pub called the Royalty in Sunderland, when I was a student- happy days!

I actually 'managed' a band when I was a student. I managed to get them into Newcastle University's Battle of the Bands in 1992, with a little bit of 'arm twisting', or was it wrist-breaking- I think that's where my 'persuasive' skills originated!

Anyway, we need a name for this e90post UK forum 'band'- something like '6FL', 'Carlos & the Dipsticks', 'Max in the morning, min in the evening', 'Dervy & the Petrolheads' ?

I'll handle the media 'promotion' that we'll need to sell the 'unique' blend of musical 'art' to the public!

I think the first release should be a cover- Bo-Rap with Paul's (silverbmwz3) lyrics. I wonder if he fancies writing the lyrics for this new band of ours?!

Hi-Fi

NICE setup, how do your neighbours cope with that...

I'm into nice kit, but no audiophile so I'm more than chuffed with my pio Ax4ASi, running into Anthony Gallo ti Divas. backed up with a a velodyne SPLR1200 (I think, been a while since I boned up on it all )
Thanks James.

The neighbours know how much I'm into my music, so they don't mind. In fact, I've told them they can listen to their stuff on it if they like, as long as there's no Barry Manilow involved!

The equipment runs off its own mains spur & is powered 24h a day. The 4 mono amps are ready to push up to around a total of 1Kw continuously into a 4ohm load & up to 6Kw at peak burst. As a true audiophile sytem, there are only 2 speakers & that is all it needs.

I just looked through my photos and I don't have one pic of it! Will take some and post them up - its in a state of dismantle at the moment though as I'm cleaning up some of the footplates etc. You don't have any contacts in the arcade business do you? I need a new stress "gauge?" for the brake pedal.

Thanks 1st,

I can get a Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo EVi 2535 - Intel Core Duo E6420 2GB 320GB for £669.99 which doesn't seem a bad price for the following spec:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Processor 2.13GHz
2048MB DDR2 RAM
320GB hard drive
Wireless keyboard with built in track pad
DVDRW Dual Layer
Intel GMA X3000 graphics (up to 256MB)
Twin Hybrid TV Tuner Freeview (DVB-T)/Anaolgue Card and Remote Control
10/100 Ethernet, USB & Firewire Ports
Twin firewire sockets to connect video cameras etc
HDMI and twin SCART sockets
High definition 7.1 audio output
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
Microsoft Works Software Supplied
12 Months Collect and Return Warranty

BUT having looked on a couple of the electronics forums, a lot of guys do seem to prefer building their own. I quite like the idea of building my own but it is only the kids who are going to get the real benefit of a high end gaming video card etc.

Question is get one off the shelf or build a mid-spec one? Tempted with the easy option and sleek box unless there is advise on the benefits of self-build?

Looks like a nice box! If you are fairly pc savvy - I would advise building your own. Its a nice sense of achievement and you get to spec the pc with the features you want/will use, The pc you listed does tick all the boxes though - the only advice I will offer is, try to listen to one in a quiet environment. It should be almost silent.

I play drums if we don't have a drummer yet, plus a bit of guitar+keyboard.
I don't have a kit though which is a bit of a limitation

Oh I forgot...other hobbies.... errrm....computers, cars (and detailing), home cinema, games (just got myself a PS3), play drums, bit of guitar and keyboard, cooking, DIY (bit).

I agree ... after having built my own PC recently, I'd recommend it to anyone. It was definitely cheaper as well.
