Re-installing injector without changing seal or Decoupling
Hi,
So I swapped what could have been a bad injector with a new one and the developed a constant mis-fire in that same cylinder, swapped coil and plug and still consistent misfire (cylinder 6). So I grabbed the old injector and re-installed it with the same seal and decoupling unit and the consistent misfire is gone. I have a bunch of injectors en route this week, so I will probably swap it out with one from that batch. My question is, has anyone else done this? Re-using the same seal and decoupling unit? And if so, any long/middle term issues? Thanks

Every removal or install of a injector, needs a new seal..
Also make sure it sits flush when you install it with the tab. Once the protective sleeve is removed from the end of the injector, make sure not to touch the tip and make sure you install the injector once the sleeve is removed. the teflon seal can swell and can damage or not sit correctly if you wait long to install it after the protective sleeve is removed. |
