Charging Battery Properly
I received a 2DED Power management, standby current control code after my iDrive had been freaking out over the past month or so.
Is it ok to charge the battery using the jumping posts in the engine compartment or do I need to disconnect all of the battery cable mayhem and charge it directly? |

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Thank you for the confirmation. After reading up on some other posts it appears others have regularly charged theirs via jumping posts as well.
