Home Hardware was the only place I could find it. There's also another retailer in the GTA's west end (that ships for an obscene price) but the name escapes me at the moment.

Cool, give him a call, because when I was there (last year in Nov.), he was waiting for approval for it.
Let me know if he does, because I need some to black out the 335is!

Well give the other guy a call, and see what he has, I know he will give a deal on the amount you buy.

My buddy and I are actually looking for some plastidip as well and the prices in Canada are just wrong considering it only runs $7 in the US and apparently easily found at any Home Depot. Apparently it is "due to a different formula and packaging needed in Canada". My buddy called TOOFASTMOTORS as I recall Farbmw had some success there but was told it'd be $20 a can with no discounts. Dipmycar actually has a Canadian branch (http://www.dipyourcar.com/shop/page/26?shop_param=) that ships from Quebec by the looks of it. They charge $15 but I think once you factor in shipping it isn't much of a discount. Maybe I'll get in touch with the guy who seems to be running their Canadian branch to see what type of pricing he can do if we have a large order?
The alternative is if anyone is heading down to Buffalo for the long weekend or has friend / family coming up from there to pick up some cans from a Home Depot. :P |

I guess it is time to go to the U.S.

Yeah, I guess he is or maybe my buddy just got the wrong guy on the phone? It's funny cause my buddy also called around to a few Home Hardware stores and several were confused as to why Plastidip is such a hot seller and they can't keep enough stock We thought about a trip to the US as well but once you factor in the gas it wasn't really worth it unless you were also doing a lot of spending and saving on other things.

I'm curious where the NAPA guy heard that plastidip is now illegal in Canada. I just did a quick search using the keywords "plastidip illegal Canada" and the first result was this thread. The only thing that comes close is that the US formula is illegal in Canada, but the company created one specifically to sell here (in addition to the label BS).

Anyway, I sent an email to dipyourcars' Canada branch to see if there is any interest in possibly doing a larger order for better pricing. I'll update this thread once I hear back. |
