No mods for the e 90 330i?
So is this particular model going to be the only BMW in recent years to have no mods available whatsoever to improve performace? I'm satisfied with its performance for now and I doubt I'd do anything significant while it was still under warrenty but once potentially voiding a warrenty is no longer an issue-- 16 months in my case-- it would be nice to have an option or two out there.
Come on Vishnu, Active, ESS, etc., help us 330i owners out. |

It's a normally aspirated engine. You may get a few HP from an intake and an exhaust but the gains from an ECU tune/piggy will be minimal.

Get an LSD with a higher gear ratio...lighter wheels will help too with the dynamics of the car

Mods don't have to be limited to ECU chip reflash. Various tuner shops offer superchargers and turbos for other older model normally aspirated BMWs. Why can't/won't they come out with a FI option for the 330i?
As for the LSD suggestion, I don't take my car to the track and I don't see the advantage of an LSD unless one is tracking their car. I realize I could change intake, exhaust, wheels, etc., but that's just nibbling at the edges IMO. I want more substantial changes in performance. |

I would recommend the BMW performance exhaust from Nevets1

the problem with a normal aspirated engine is that modifications dont do too much for them...sure you can get an extra 10hp but that doesnt help too much and the cost to get that hp is so great that its not worth it...now if you want to pour serious money into the car you can make a damn fast 330...get high compression pistions, knife edge the crank, get a new camshaft, free flow headers, straight pipes, and run 100 octane and your 330 would be ridiculous, but at the tune of $10000 or so....turbos are extremely easy to get extra hp out of....a couple hundred dollar chip and there you go 30, 40 , 50 hp, a bigger turbo 100hp if you want...if you want hp get a car with a turbo or a normal aspired engine that already has the hp

The LSD I ordered is not a quaife. I ordered the whole pumpkin with an increase in gear ratio from 3.15 to 3.38 - a subtle increase of 7%. A more agressive 3.56 (15%) ratio option is also available.
