12mm up front and 20 in the rear will fit. You most likely don't even need to roll the fenders.

Have you considered doing a stud conversion?

So I have a 2008 BMW 335i with sports package (pre-LCI), factory 18" wheels (BMW Style Number 162). I'm thinking 10mm in the front and 12mm in the rear. I was told that if you stick to <12mm all the way around you will not get rubbing under load. A few questions:

I'm now thinking 18mm rear and 12mm front for my pre-LCI car. Any tire rubbing with a full load of passengers and luggage? Some people say no rubbing with 20mm, others say rubbing with 18mm... I just don't know if this is a difference between pre-LCI and LCI cars.

Any issues with 4-wheel alignment?
bmwarg: did you ever install the spacers? What did you decide to go with? I just purchased a 2008 with your exact specs and want to add spacers as well and want to make sure I go as wide as possible without rubbing.

hmm with stock wheels/suspension you can go 15-20mm you should have no issues at all.

but once you decide to lower your car that's when you might have problems...

15mm front and 20mm rear. With H&R sport springs. Minimal rubbing only when there are passengers at the back.

I decided not to add spacers. I recall 15mm in the rear would be fine, maybe up to 18mm for pre-lci for no rubbing. In the front nothing or 10mm in the front, but I'm not sure the lip in the 10mm spacers is big enough to avoid any issues.

to beat an always dying horse... I've got some shimmy issues on my 10's I think, going to swap them for 15s and see if that helps (and hopefully not rub - 2007 pre-lci on 162s, stock suspension)

From what I've read, 12mm is the minimum to fit over the hub. Some say 10mm on the front works. I think I'm going with 12/15

I'm looking to slightly lower and get some new summer wheels (apex ec-7s maybe) and have been trying to find an xdrive 4 door with your setup. If you ran a square set would you have done 15mm spacers in the rear?

I haven't purchased anything yet. I've only owned my car for a little over a month. Running my OEM wheels till spring and hope to do lowering springs and the EC-7s myself. Part of me is leaning towards being able to rotate wheels and use spacers to get the aggressive look. All recommendations are welcome!

BMS spacers

I have 12mm BMS spacers all around. I didn't want to ever have an issue in the future with a tire shop possibly getting the lugs mixed up. By the way I think the BMS spacers are the only ones using a 7075-t6 aluminum alloy compared to the 6061-t6 used by most of the other brands. So they are much stronger.
