Should I just get a new FRM instead of splicing for bi-xenons?
So I replaced the halogens on my E90 with euro bi-xenons (OEM) a while back. I never did get the high beams working with the new setup, which is finally starting to bug me.
Many posts on this board show how to get it "working" by splicing the bi-xenon shutter to the halogen flasher (which does work). Looks easy enough, and effective. Is it stupid to consider replacing the FRM with a newer one that can handle both connections separately? A slightly OCD part of me wants it that way, plus one less weird thing to explain if/when selling the car, eventually. If it's just a matter of the hundred bucks or whatever for the module, I'd rather just do it (spent over $1500 on this damn setup already). How hard is it to actually replace? Are there any nasty issues? I guess I'd have to redo any coding I want, which isn't a problem. |

I don't know much about this issue in particular but if the fix is splicing wires or having it work with a replacement of a plug and play module for ~$100, I'd go with the cleaner option and replace the module. I hate cutting into factory wiring.
