Injectors

Hi guys.

I've been having power loss and smoke issues of late which no one can seem to get to the bottom of.

Injectors have been mentioned so I plugged the car into the laptop and checked the selective mass adjustment figures.

At idle all seem fine but when driving , at between 1 and 2000 revs cylinder 6 goes into the red as shown in pic.

Can someone tell me if this would cause the power loss and grey smoke in question.

The rev range that it's in the red does match the symptoms.

Also I assume injector 6 would be the problem injector ?? I've read they work in pairs so wasn't sure if it could be a different one

Any help much appreciated.

Grey smoke is unburnt diesel - that injector can very well be the cause of it, if the atomisation is poor on it.

thanks for the reply.

Ok so we are thinking injector with the low reading is the problem? Or no 5 with the high reading?

Injector 6 was actually replaced a year ago so hopefully its not that one.

thanks again

Could be both really. :/ You need to have them tested for spray angle and leakback.

When was you cbu cleaned? and what version of software do you have on your ecu? You might have to take a trip to the dealer to get the quantity adjustments reset and the software updated. Should still be cheaper than an injector... Besides the injector will need to be coded to the engine, if you decide to replace it.
Just a thought...
