How often do you...

How often do you change your oil / service your car? Do you:

A) Leave it until the car tells you on condition?

B) Yearly, by a dealer or yourself?

C) Service it yourself, how often?

D) Something else?

A for me, though this last service I had done 6 weeks early as I thought, foolishly, they would check for fault codes

Well - I've had the car a year and only done 3k miles. I had the oil changed before Christmas as I didn't fancy it sat in thick gloopy old oil during the harsh winter months.

It's due according to the OBC in September, where I'll have it done by main dealer to maintain FSH.

So my car actually has far more than "FSH" but *shrugs*

Since I can't see the condition of the oil, and also the FI goes through a quart or two inbetween oil changes, I go by the mileage since last oil change....and try to change around 6000 miles with fully synthetic oil..Mobile/Castrol Yes, that seems to be a long interval to most guys, but heck this motor is still running strong at 120,000 miles on JB4/meth/E85,etc. etc...

On condition mine says another 13K miles (6K since I have had it serviced) I don't fancy leaving it for almost 20K... Seems far too long?! I do motorway only really and about 1-1.5K per month, what do you think?
