Yes, your 99 boxster is probably a blast to drive being a roadster, I'm not saying it's a bad car. Just that Porsche developed a name to be above and beyond the norm in the car business.

If you truly believe that your 99 boxster fits that mold than who am I to argue, we both have a right to our opinions.

1.) When did I bring up the 335 in terms of comparison to the Cayman S? I never did. (Mistake 1 for you)

2.) Am I arguing about the current version of the Boxster on here? No, I said the first few model designs, I have said the new Boxster is much much nicer and performance oriented. (Mistake 2 for you)

I am not sure why you are so hostile, it shows a lack of intelligence and that you don't obviously make a large contribution to society with a mentality such as yours.

I don't let someone driving a nicer car than me make me feel like shit, I appreciate the beauty and try to better my life to be able to afford those things one day.

You're an idiot... I know your type...the greyhairs.

Sit around and talk about how shit used to be done back in the 1920's...afraid to face change...afraid to see women voting...afraid to drive a Boxster or Cayman (regardless of S or non-S) because your buddy had a friend who knew some guy who said that Boxsters and Cayman are the poor man's Porsche.

You have ZERO idea what your talking about. You come online and log in to boost your ego and poke out your chest to compensate for your ED. ED in the sense of erectile dysfunction NOT euro delivery buddy.

Well you go ahead - you stroke that ego old man!!! STROKE IT!!!!!!!!!

And when it's all done...you play the "lack of intelligence" card when all else fails in your piss-poor attempt at taking high ground LOL

Then boom: you walk away feeling like a Boss!

I stopped after "greyhair".

I'm 32 but you're right, I do have gray hair already, thinking about picking up some 'Just for Men' on the way home from work and then frosting my tips.

Ok, I lied, I did read it, I was just doing a quick spell check to ensure you had no spelling/grammar errors that I could point out. You must have had your mom check it before you submitted it for posting.

See, I was gonna do a yo momma joke to show my again but I laid off.

In all seriousness, my opinion is the only one that counts here, yours doesn't mean much to be honest. And I say the first few version of the boxster were sad in terms of Porsche standards.

You do realize that Porsche has made many "entry-level" cars like the Boxster over its history, right? The idea that only flagship performance models count as "real" Porsches means that half of the models they have ever made are not "real" Porsches.

And the idea that any street car comes with no sacrifices is silly. Why isn't a 911 a million dollar supercar? Simple, it's because even a "real" Porsche has pricing limitations. Does this mean a 911 isn't a "real" Porsche either? It's certainly not a 959, 918, or Carrera GT.

The new Boxster is also made alongside the VW Golf!

This is actually a good post for me. I drive an E92 'is' and Panarama and Cayenne are on my short list when my lease is up. Thanks for the input, this just saves me wasting time on looking the the Panarama 4...

Ha, ok that made me laugh.
Haha that put a smile on for sure. I work for the Hertz Corporation at an airport rental operation and we rent the Porsche Panamera 4. We rent it for no less than $300 per day for those that want to be flashy in a Porsche, and it's nice to know that when it comes down to it, my own 335i is faster and I sure don't have to pay $300 a day to drive it!

Porsche did make some shitty cars in the past....but with 987 and 997 Porsche changed a lot. I wouldn't want to have 986 or 996

I kinda feel the same way, but the pricing on used 996's make them tempting.

I wonder though, considering it purely as a driving car (so ignoring interior, image, looks, etc.), it might be a pretty good deal if you get an IMS/RMS fix in. Seems to be pretty solid otherwise. Performance was good for its time, but time marches on of course.
