Extra steering wheel buttons.

I don't have Bluetooth in my car, so i have two dummy buttons on my steering wheel that don't do anything.
So can I rewire these dummy buttons to serve another function? such as:
-Activate defroster
-activate Auto Wiper
-Change the radio stations (edit: for the left side of the steering wheel)
-(insert other idea here)

I'm aiming for the changing of the audio selection because I keep the wheel in my left and shift with my right. I'd like to not have to bring my right hand to the wheel just to change the song, I'd rather just use my left hand, which is already on the steering wheel using the Bluetooth buttons that are useless in my car.
Its not an absolute necessity, but I think it'd be an interesting project.

BUMP... great idea and anyone opened up the wheel and checked how these buttons work?
I am wondering if I would be able to access on of these buttons and to act as a headset mic button for the AUX cable. rewire the button to short mic line to ground on the aux cable? i guess I would need to upgrade the aux cable / connector to have the mic line too. The whole idea is then I can easily change songs playing from my android phone.

You'd be better off with an aftermarket headunit and the connects2 harness.

Wow this post was old!
Yes i have an aftermarket HU now.

I dont care for these features anymore, i guess i was just curious.

Although, note that when you have an aftermarket HU, you cant change the circulation of the A/C from the steering wheel anymore..

I use the circulation button to mute my radio

For anyone wondering, the wheel buttons communicate resistively to a module (the SZL) in the steering column which then broadcasts messages on the F CAN bus to the JBE which then rebroadcasts them on K-CAN to anyone who cares (mainly the radio, also the climate module).
