Y'know. I think I might be due for my next 7500 mile oil change. I'll have to check and get back to you tomorrow.

1) You have to go to the CCA page for Mid-Atlantic.
2) You have to be a CCA Member
3) It costs $15, you get bay time to do whatever approved DIY you want...

See below:

August 19, DIY @ BMW of Sterling (Sunday, 1 to 4 PM)
Sterling, VA
Registration now open through August 12,
Program Overview
The 2007 Do-It-Yourself (DIY) program allows NCC Members to work on their own automobiles under the supervision of a mechanic. The DIY is intended for maintenance and basic repairs that you can complete within a two-and-one-half-hour time period. There are usually several NCC members and technicians provided by the sponsor who can assist when an extra pair of hands or advice is needed and we are happy to show newcomers the joys of working on your own car. DIY participants are encouraged to contact the club DIY Coordinator before the event to help you plan ahead and decide what size job you can tackle, based on your skill level and tools. Most DIYs start at 8:00 AM and finish at 2:00 PM. Lunch will be provided by the Club.
Pre-Registration & Registration
Pre-registration requires a member to complete and submit the Pre-registration Form via our website. After you submit the form, which will give the organizers your details for the DIY, you must pay $15. Exceptions are the first three ladies for each remaining 2007 DIY, who may waive the $15 fee. You will be directed to our online payment link after sending your registration form. You may then complete Pre-registration immediately by using the PayPal option, for which you do not need a PayPal account.

Registration: Depending on the response, we may have to limit attendance, and registrations will be determined by date & time of PayPal payment. On or about the Wednesday before the DIY, the applicable NCC coordinator, either Zach Pullins or Alan Marsh, will send an e-mail message to each person who had pre-registered, explaining who is registered (there may be a capacity problem), as well as additional information about the DIY.

Notes:
(1) All checks submitted for a canceled DIY have been securely shredded, and therefore cannot be used for payment of another event.
(2) The 2007 DIY program is in full support of the NCC policy of returning members’ investments to them in a variety of received value. Please note: The 2007 DIY program is in full support of the NCC policy of returning members’ investments to them in a variety of received value.
Tools
All Club members are expected to bring their own tools, such as metric wrenches, socket sets, etc, or to borrow another Club member’s tools. Club members must understand that all on-site tools and tool storage is the private property of the garage mechanics, and we must not borrow those tools or damage the tool cabinets. The service shop hosting the DIY event may be able to access and use some specialty tools. However, DIY participants should not assume that a tool is available; please plan ahead. We cannot guarantee a tool’s availability; sometimes, specialty tools are missing or broken on the day of the event.
Parts
Each participant is encouraged to buy all parts (including oils & other fluids) from the event host if they sell parts. Most service shops offer club members discounts. Buying parts from the event host helps provide incentive to host an event. If you want to bring your own parts, you must inform either NCC coordinator well before the DIY so the coordinator can seek approval from the DIY sponsor. The coordinator will respond to you in a timely manner.
Marques

NCC BMW CCA is a marque club, celebrating the BMW marque, and these DIYs are designed to keep our BMWs running safely and well. However, on occasion a member may wish to bring a different marque (e.g. Morgan or Porsche) to a DIY. The member should pre-register, noting the request to bring the specific marque, year, and model; the DIY Coordinator will liaise with the shop for permission, and respond to the member with approval or disapproval.
Scheduling
Participants must arrive before the start of the event, or risk losing their assigned time. Participants’ times are usually assigned by postmark of mailed check or time of PayPal receipt. However, the DIY Coordinator has the authority to rearrange the schedule. Please be prepared to help other members while awaiting a lift. Non-registered members (“Walk-ups”) will be admitted only after all registered participants have had the opportunity to complete their jobs, and if time is still available due to other sensible contingencies.

Contact
If you would like to help organize a DIY, or have a facility who can host an event, please contact DIY Coordinator Alan Marsh at abm_16@verizon.net

Just wanted to shout out Scott for helping me at the DIY last Sunday (he actually did all the work, so now I owe him big time ).

We had a great time hanging out, working on our cars, getting dirty, and meeting new folks. I'm waiting for someone to post pics on the NCC board.

Also, for all those free food vultures out there, there's a DIY picnic in Sept thats open to all NCC members. It sounds great, but I'll be tailgating that day before the Skins/Giants game.
