I had a cycling event at Poolesville Md today, and very small town NW of Rockville located at the West end of River Rd about 45mins from here.

Its one of those towns that if you blink you'll miss Downtown... a very lovely place with some breathtaking scenic hills and farmland. I though the place would not have anything exciting to see other that those mentioned which are most often the cause of wkend bikers pilgrimage.

Well, when I visited their McDonalds I was shock to see this MB 220 in prestine condition at the parking lot. I found the owner and we talked to find out he is the 3rd owner of the 1955 Vintage Classic. This car is in perfect working order with 44k original miles. It shock me to know it even has a Inline 6 engine with a 12 volt battery... it takes 77 octance btw

He cant even say how much it would take to sell it, for adamantly he said its not for sale. Yes! its Jet Black with Ruby Red Leather interior.

....this made my day for I've been a 10 yr Mbenz owner too before my e90.

heres some trivia notes

Ferrari...

I think this is one of the rare ferraris too... The Superamerica. It has a pretty cool panoramic roof that flips to the back.. not the best pic but it's HOT!! Sorry no profile pic...

This is a better pic and description of the car..

I believe you saw the owner of the 220 MBenz the day after he decided to CarMax his car, realizing it was worth as much as the Ferrari

^^ looking good, ase.

Reviving this thread because I followed an orange Lamborghini Gallardo to work this morning. I smoked his ass with the 330i -- I have a blow-off valve on my car, so it's really fast.

I see various Lotus Elises from time to time, too. I the look of those cars and I bet they would be a blast to drive. The nearest Lotus dealer appears to be up in Maryland, though.

The car that got me to start this thread was an orange-ish colored Exige S. Still the only Exige S I've seen on the roads.

I was behind a white exige monday? He had a Curry's auto plate frame tacked on which makes sense since we were only a few lights from the Chantilly Curry's. The guy in the Honda next to him was practically falling out of his seat to ogle.

I also saw an exige down on the outerbanks below nag's head in mid-July.

LOL - yes, when I saw the Exige, it was 2 lanes over, but stop and go traffic, so I was basically right next to it. A minivan between us, and I could see the mom and dad in the minivan pointing it out to their kid. Cool to see a car get so many looks.

Anyone ever driven one of those? They look like they would be fun to drive, though in traffic, I think the view out of the tiny back window (partially blocked with a spoiler, no less) would get tiresome.

As many of you know, I work from home quite often. My office sits on the front right hand side of my house allowing me a clear view directly up the intersecting street. Earlier this year four or five different times, I looked up as I heard the bark of an exhaust only to see the tail end of a black Exige as it scuttled away rapidly. Now my street can be use as a short cut of sorts for those in the know, so I figured it was a local avoiding the light at Great Falls and West Streets. Finally a month or two ago I had the good fortune to be outside when this car happened to emerge from two doors down from mine. As it turns out my neighbor has a little bat cave that hides his little Lotus away on most days, but occasionally it get to run. Garage opens and out he rolls. garage opens and in he rolls. Unless you see it in motion, you'll never know where it came from.

We have talked a number of times since and he promises that we will switch cars when mine arrives and go for an early Sunday drive. I'll let you know when I have something to report on that front. I'd imagine it will be tons of fun to throw around.

Oh, by the way, you can rent an Elise for the day down in Ballston for $300. Not cheap, but not outrageous either. I'm gonna do it sometime soon for kicks. When I have a full day off and nothing at all to do except drive, that might be a blast! Don't have the number handy, but I bank near there and can get the number if someone needs it. Seems like a nice birthday gift from your wife or girlfriend!

If you live near Great Falls and West streets, you're only a couple of miles from me, so maybe I'll come by to check out that Exige with you sometime.
