Well...it almost feels like metal. It's not as "cold" as metal. It's like the BMW synthetic seats. They're very good for vinyl, but if you have something to compare it to, it's not the same.

This may be what he was trying to post:
http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...beGW5VRFJ6Q9gl

This is for the 1080 Scotchprint (not Brushed Graphite):
http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...beGW5VRFJ6Q9gl

Also, I know people have been asking me for more pictures of the brushed graphite. I've just been really busy (the new Cobb AP, 335is bumper/diffuser, and BMW PE are taking precedence, which they should; I think you'll agree ) and haven't gotten around to wrapping any more, but this weekend is looking good. Remember with the dinoc, I need to find the time and patience or its all for naught.

I will say that I think the Scotchprint is MUCH easier to make install cleanly/professionally and not mess up, but the Di-Noc just LOOKS killer. It feels and looks convincingly brushed and metal. One thing about the Scotchprint that I'm seeing and I'm not crazy about is that is has a metallic sparkle or "flake", like a paint finish almost...which real metal doesn't actually have. Can one of you that's actually been wrapping with it (jeff?) comment on that since I only have tiny samples to go by?

OK, I'm sold on that brushed graphite...what an awesome color. You stated earlier that you need to be careful about the size to purchase in order to ensure the "grain" is oriented the correct way. I am having my center console wrapped in leather so I only need to wrap the dash and all 4 doors (E90) in di-noc. What size sheet do I need to order?

Thanks,

Chris

Yes you are correct. In direct sunlight only it does have a metallic flake/sparkle to it. I don't mind it because I've had Burl wood for so long now.

Yeah, I just ordered 2 sq feet of the ME-379 Brush Graphite Di-Noc to wrap my laptop. I'll post pictures comparing it to the brushed steel sample I have.

Just so everyone knows, Di-Noc is much more difficult to work with than 1080 Scotchprint.

Just buy another trim piece of here or Ebay. You won't get an exact match with the OEM aluminum.

That turned out really nice, how long did it take you to do that?
Realisticly how difficult was it, because we all have started something and half way through been like maybe i should have thought this through better.

Took maybe 6-8 total hours. On a scale from 1 to 5 with 5 being the hardest I'd say a 3. Just have to have patients and a heat gun.

just stumbled upon this. Really liking the black aluminum finish.

Question - is there a vendor that sells this thing on the forum? The dark one is "scotchprint", not the DiNoc you've got (which is titanium or brushed steel?). I've done the carbon fabric in the past and want something else this time, and thinking about something dark gray metal or other even black aluminum. (Charred wood would be my top choice but no luck finding this one anywhere).

You can order from a 3M dealer (I ordered 6 kits to test it out) they have a lot of colors in the scotchprint stuff

Charred wood ..that would have to be "made" by a print shop and printed onto white vinyl then laid

I think I'll first search for matte black wood texture and perhaps that'll do the trick...

My local dealer is offering installation and sale, but won't sell material only. So I need an online source that'll ship to Europe like Sonic did ship my CF fabric few years ago.

See my link below for burnt wood effect dash (it's a Jaguar XF concept):

Any idea what size sheet I would need to wrap the door (front & rear) and dash trims pieces on an E90 (I'm not doing the center console)?

Who's your 3M dealer?? I want to try and find some of the more exotic Wood Di-Noc patterns (fine-line esque dark wood...yesss) but I have no need for hundreds and hundreds of square feet of said material.
