That doesn't look 100% like the manifold, but yeah, it's pretty close. The Z4 swap post is pretty important, since it tells you which DISA wire goes to which DISA.
The biggest thing I'd say is to label every wire, since there's a group of four in the back (they're a bitch, by the way), and you want them in the proper order. Otherwise, it's pretty much "unbolt what you need to get at it, unbolt it, don't force anything, installation is the reverse of removal". I have pictures of mine somewhere. I can probably get the up early next week, since I'll be hitting ACBF in Boston this weekend. Keep an eye out for a red 325 with Vermont plates. |

yeah, use the Z4 post. it has pics and makes more sense compared to just reading the directions. The Z4 also has a little bit more room at the back of the motor than the E90, so getting at some of the stuff back there is a big pain in the butt.
But just have patience, it's totally doable, and a friend helping you out for some of the critical steps makes things a lot easier. |

Metric tool set
Mechanic pick set Extended needle nose pliers (Needed for crank case vent hoses) Male Torx socket set/torx set I dont remember needing anything else. I have a couple of pics, but I stopped taking them after a while. The hardest part I found was the crank case hoses. I broke both installing. The next hardest is to unhook the crank case plugs that hook into the back of the manifold near the firewall. You will also need to mark them so you dont get them backwards. Another issue I ran into was the Part #14 is the power plug Im talking about for the vent hoses. Another issue I ran into was the #9 bracket that has a distro block clipped to it. You almost have to break the tabs to remove it. You can see the plugs for the vent hoses in this pic Last edited by Johnny D; 06-01-2012 at 11:34 PM.. |

going to have my mechanic do the swap...too busy with the 5 month old at home lol
he's telling me I'll need the 2 pipes cuz they'll crack/break....not the vent hose (#2 on above pic). Everyone on the forum is telling me I'll need the "vent hose" the two pipes are the "connecting line" 11157522931 (#3 on above pic) and also the "returning pipe" 11157567802 (#4 on above pic) Any idea? these two pipes is another $100 Last edited by ska///235i; 08-17-2012 at 11:14 PM.. |

So in z4post I can find where to get all the parts? I have a 06 325xi? Do I need to get the parts off of a specific car? Ie..06 335?

Stupid question…since the 325 manifold (non 3 stage) doesn’t have the 2 DISA value/actuators, will there be wires for this to connect to? What I’m trying to ask is will there already be wires to connect the 2 DISA/Actuator or do I need to buy them?

with the 328, I didn't have to worry about those pipes in the back.
Just disconnected it from the manifold side and it was good to go. |

Your car already has them. They're not connected to anything on the 325. They're just clipped to your manifold just below the BMW logo.

got this done...he was able to reuse both connecting pipes so saved me $100
drove it around, its not 335 fast but everything feels more defined, for those looking to get this done...dont expect it to become a 335 but rather a 330.

If you have a 328, it might not be worth it. If you have a 325 the difference is huge. I noticed immediately when it was erased. The torque is what I really does it for me.
