Car is debadged now. Paddles that shift are on old 335 steering wheel that was taken off and now sitting in a box in my basement. The wheel on the car is a E92 M3 steering wheel - paddles don't fit on that thicker wheel. I prefer the thicker wheel and no paddles vs. thin wheel with paddles.

You need to debage at least the "DINAN" or the "335XI". Other than that it looks great!!!

Company that makes pedals doesn't make them without M3 logo cutout - I asked if they could just have the "M" there. I like the pedals so have to live with the "M3" on the foot rest.

See above regarding paddles and different steering wheel. I chose the automatic because when I spoke to a couple BMW technicians they said the automatic transmission was stronger to handle the additional torque - I believe with the auto it's consistently faster for launches as it is more difficult to get the perfect launch with the manual. My other car is an NSX with the NSX-R shifter and short shift. I don't like the BMW long throws and if it's not close to the way the NSX shifts I don't want it.

Also, you have the automatic? How come you didn't get the $100 paddle shiftes???

I bet that he has a set of snows on his stock rims given that he lives in Michigan. Given all his other mods and planning, I bet he already figured that out...Michigan people know snow.

I like how you say sharper than a M3 without ever driving one. Good stuff on this board, I swear.

I've driven an M3. It's a nice car but not as sharp handling as a 3 with KW V3 coilovers, so sorry ihyln. Have YOU driven an all wheel drive 3 with coilovers and over 400 ft lb of torque with DTC off??? Amazing power slides. Yes I have all season tires for winter.

Sorry for thread jacking, but...

I currently own a 2008 E90 M3, and I've been toying with the idea of getting a 2009 335i xDrive Coupe. Does anyone have 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for an xDrive with Dinan Stage 1 or 2 software?

I'm almost embarrassed to read someone say that an xi with a set of v3's will handle better than an M3

Are you fawking serious?

x2. the xi is a hindrance when it comes to handling not an improvement. I own one too need it for the snow, other wise I wouldn't.

it has its differences

mostly in the form of weight.

the xi w/coilovers is awesome. i just installed some kw v1. my m3 can take turns quicker than it for a few reasons
-18x9.5 square set up w/bstone re01r
-roll bar has increased rigidity
-tckline s/a coilovers 500/600lb springs

BUT

if i were to put some better tires on my 335 and a sway bar (which is in the works) it would definitely put up a fight against the m3.

what you guys are not understanding is that its all in the driver. the car can determine a certain amount, but in all honesty, 99.9% of the members on this forum can't drive either the 335 or the m3 (e46 or e9x) to its 10/10ths, so this argument is futile.

both cars are great. BMW such a great job with the 335 that there wasn't much room for the m3 to shine. you can quote ring times and other lap times, but it all comes down to the driver. i can go rent a GTR for the ring, does that mean im gonna run it under 7:30? no. sure the car is capable of doing it...im capable, anatomically and mentally, of banging megan fox, but does that mean its going to happen. probably not.

I have the Stage 2 flash with stock exhaust. The car runs 13.28 1/4 with the steptronic. Don't know about 0-60 but the 60' is 1.88. I believe exhaust opening up the top end should easily shave another .1 or so off of the time. A manual with a heroic launch may hit 12.9s.

very nice car, it shows that you put alot of work, time and money into your car!

If you want truly call it your own "M3xi" you need to replace a few more parts...m3 brakes/rotors and Dinan Exhaust or Tips.

Remove the M badges from the pedals.

One last thing, Get Custom Dinan Badges to match the BMW lettering. Or debadge the whole car, wayy too much going on back there right now.

Wonderful car, Keep up the good work.

I appreciate what your going for. Many of us would love to have a M3, but in all practicality must have AWD. Although you gotta be careful on these boards, people get real uptight on calling a non M car a M car. So it doesn't matter what you call it, you got a bad ass AWD car.

Working on a similar build myself, S2 dinan exhaust + software, kw v3 & mtech kit. Need to get some nice wheels like you got though.
