Aston Martin - Car With Class for People With None!

What do we all think to Aston Martin?

Huuuuuuuuuuge generalisation here - It's a car with class for people with none, I actually find the few people I know who own them (newish ones not Classic Aston Martins) seem to have either got money by dubious means or are general idiots.

Round my way you see a few being driven really badly, like total idiots.

Is it the same everywhere or just a Derby thing? As you'd like to imagine Aston Martin drivers to be ladies and gentlemen not the type I have described above!

It's not just Aston Martin round here we also have -
Porsche 911 (996) and (997) turbo - same situation as Aston Martin?
Range Rover - Not so much the Sport as you kind of expect it, the full blown Rangie
New Alfa Romeo GTs - 'cos it's Italian innnnnitt so therefore a supercar
New BMW 5 Series - I find these to be quite pushy
Mercedes C Class - Very pushy drivers, whats your problem ? To the man in the base spec C180 what was your desire to overtake me down a NSL B road when I was doing circa 67mph anyway, then slow down to 45mph, then speed up when I decide to overtake so I can carry on driving what is a great road.

Of course not all the drivers of these cars are like this!

I like Astons, they look and sound beautiful and they are British! Plus the James Bond connection and all that! They have some blinding cars in their range at the moment and the DBS at Goodwood was just stunning!

I don't dislike Aston Martin, yes they are British but who really cares about that? If more did we'd probably still have MG, Rover and TVR.

Just noticed that round here Aston Martins seem to be the car of choice for the above mentioned people, not all of them admitted.

Has James Bond done the brand any favours? Yes in terms of sales, I imagine. Not in terms of image in my opinion.

Lol just my opinion don't hate me for it!

Nathan - The ones I know with Aston Martins are not actually from Derby, though the ones I've seen driving round Derby some do seem to be that sort!

I know one very nice man who drives an Aston So as with anything they aren't all the same.

As for Aston Martins being gorgeous - I can see it in the old ones but the new ones to me are rather plain, each to their own!

An Aston is one of the few cars that always seem to get the thumbs up, people who hate Porsches, BMWs, Mercs etc. etc. seem to like Astons etc.

I have to say I have never seen a knob in and Aston round here, but I have seen plenty of knobs in Derby, so it is probably just the area!!

Best not to generalise about Essex perhaps.

I've no experience of Aston drivers really, the only people I know who have owned them were women, both of whom drive quite quickly. One always stank the cabin out with bloody perfume though. Both these women now own Bentleys........... now M6 drivers - loads of those around here.

Think they look very sleek though and sound bloody amazing!

Porscha, a bloke I know who is born and bred in Sheffield once told me that the posh part of Sheffield is called Derbyshire. Is that right?

Apologies to anyone from Sheffield, I'm not slagging the place After all, I've got Kingston upon Hull on my doorstep, well sort of.

Lol, I've never heard that one!

Though Derbyshire is a big place, most of it is lovely yet some parts aren't as with anywhere.

Half of the city itself is beautiful, half of it isn't, some rough parts but some lovely parts too.

Think it's the same as any county!
