Only about 375 miles but total town driving. Hardly any dual carriageway and certainly no motorways. Not too bad I thought.
Thanks VERY much for posting that....makes me feel a WHOLE lot better about what I'm seeing in the Merc - 38 average, which similarly does not include any decent runs, but lots of stop start short journeys.

Love the look of the F31's though.

Wow, I get way more than that in my F31 330D Auto, I get 46mpg average on my 30 miles commute each day. Over my last tank full which due to the snow was mostly local (slow) town driving I still got 36.8mpg (measured, not from the trip computer).

It's improving slowly but surely. I'm up to about 36mpg now. Unfortunately I'm still only doing short journeys around town with hardly any runs. And don't forget it's still very new. Anyway, who cares? It's going back in a few days as the new one is due. But I have to say the 320d F31 is a very fine car.

I try not to think about it. However, when I do think about it I imagine that a driving God like me will prefer the 'purity' of RWD and that the Xdrive system dilutes the BMW experience. Or something. Dab of oppo etc etc.
I cleaned it 2 weeks ago to get some pics but it was dark by the time I finished. Then it snowed, now it's very dirty again and I have the norovirus so can't leave the toilet for long enough to clean it. I will do some proper decent pics and a mini review soon. Promise.

Regarding the xdrive models. I can see the attraction but not for me.
