PROcede Tuning for upgraded turbos!

Just saw this tucked away in another thread.... !!!

Currently in LA tuning a car with upgraded turbos. Just doing the initial break-in tune today. Not going for any hp records. But I'm happy to say that contrary to some statements made by others, there is no issue whatsoever with mapping a car with upgraded turbos. We expected this to be the case since we developed the boost control system to be fully mappable like a stand alone while still referencing off the factory boost control system. So in effect, we get all the flexability we need while still relying on the factory closed loop logic and failsafes. The other tuning option(s) that simply pull the wastegate signals to ground cannot do this since they are only capable of offsetting DC in a postive direction (increasing it). Whereas we can go in both direction as well as isolate and modify the individual proportional correction induced by the factory ECU. On top of that, we have 3 PID based watchdogs that keep everything in check and limp-free. So, as predicted, I'm having no problem mapping the upgraded turbos with the current firmware. Oh, and the throttle is staying completely open under boost. We're already making ~35whp more than the other tuning options that were run on the car (one of them being a custom reflash). Final results later in another thread.

Also, looks like the next demo maps that I'll be posting (later this week) will be fully user adjustable unlike the current ones. This means you will have map switching, user torque, traction nanny, valet, upshift softening, etc,. all at your disposal once again

I also have a fully installable version of v3.2 User Software that I'm testing right now. So no more having to muck around with .exe files and putting them in various folders. Now it will automatically be done for you by simply double-clicking on the Installation Shield

Cheers,
shiv

The PROcede isn't "overly complicated" for no reason

I can't wait to see the final results

Yes, but I'll let shiv and/or that company announce fully the details when ready... I just got excited to see that it worked out so well first try!

Imagine if Shiv wanted to have it his way at King Burger. Security would be all over him.

I think the fuel system would be the barrier before that. Also, is it going to be thousands and thousands for these turbos? Or kind of an exchange type deal?? For those of you that have seen it done, changing turbos is pretty labor intensive also.

I see none of these turbo upgrades costing no less than 3-4k for the very minimum/basic setup. Only time will tell

TWIN gt35? I guess you havent see the room we have to work with or how big GT35's are.

Getting a single GT35 to fit shouldnt be a problem. You can slap on any turbo but the fueling will become an issue really fast. (for boosted_IS, at least this is what we're assuming)

One of the things keeping me from doing a complete turbo swap is the intake piping etc.

The damn GT Pro setup is $2400 and thats not including labor to install the turbos!

If there is a decent demand which I doubt there will be. I'd begin to sell modded turbos for $1800.... Overall cost to "mod" the oem turbos will not cost over $1000, this goes from changing wheels to changing the entire CHRA.

you will never make 700hp on a N54 with the stock fuel system or stock internals

As formerly boosted IS would probably say, How do you know? Have you tried making 700hp on stock internals and fueling?

i have had the parts here for some time but...TIME is something i have not had lately. once we get cranking we can have the fabrication done in as little as a weekend. things should be slowing down in the next 2 weeks or so and i hope to start cracking on it.
