BMW aluminum pedals

I just picked up my new car (!!!) and wanted to pick an accessory Christmas gift.
My trim is aluminum and wanted to put on aluminum pedals and footrest cover.

Had any of you done that? Any reason why would you not recommend it?

I believe there's drilling involved. That's the only thing stopping me.

Get a good titanium or cobalt bit and it takes less than 30 minutes for a step car.

I have the BMW stainless steel ones, and M3 dead pedal. No drilling required.

There is absolutely NO downside to the aluminum pedals. I love the look of it on my car and it really makes the flooring "pop"

I was gonna get the same on spoolin had but i just wanted the oem one hah. However do buy extra titanium drill bits as they are most likely to snap when you're drilling. As always, wear eye protection. Installation takes 10-15mins tops. Go for it

I did mine last 2 weeks ago and it was my first time using the power drill. Took me at least 20 mins to drill 4 holes on the brake pedal. (Was using black&decker brand) Also tightening nuts afterwards on the brake pads was a pain too.

i like the look but am concerned if they become slippery when wet.. also if they feel really cold if I drive barefoot..

Aluminum pedals FTW. I didn't have a drill before I bought my aluminum pedals and I basically bought the drill to install them. After the installation, I love the way the pedals look and the drill turned out to be a wise investment.

Use a hard drill bit and some grease. There is special drilling grease, i forget what its called, and that helps. Only took about 15 seconds per hole for me.

The OEM BMW Aluminum pedals are a worthwhile mod. They look as good as the day they were installed, and IMHO provide better grip than the stock pedals. The brake pedal takes time, but as long as you have a drill with sufficient torque, you'll get it installed in no time. High on my list of mods for those who want a clean, enhanced stock look.

You will need to drill into the factory pedals but you can turn it back to stock by replacing the rubber pads over the pedals.

Any suggestions as to where is the best place to purchase high quality aluminum pedals? I notice that on eBay most of the sellers are located and shipping from China or Taiwan. How much should expect to pay for high quality pedals? Are the OEM BMW pedals worth the extra expense?

I bought mine off eBay from a US dealer somewhere in the northeast. Avoid Chinese and Taiwanese if you can, likely to be OEM replica's.

Are the alum pedals in that pic OEM? The factory alum pedlas I've seen are different... there's another pic elsewhere in this thread.
