Talking BMW offers up different colored roundels according to your political preferences

Name: roundels.jpg

To celebrate the election fever currently under way in the UK, BMW has decided to allow customers to show their true political colors by color coding their BMW's roundel. The Political Roundel Attachment Tag comes in 3 prime colours – red for Labour, blue for Conservative, yellow for Liberal Democrats. This allows alignment with the major UK political parties.

Oh, and Happy April Fools Day

From Richard Aucock's blog:

Quote:
Ahem. It is, of course, an April Fool’s joke. There is no Uwe Beanhadde, and no renowned BMW Forschungs und Innovationszentrum centre in Munich (Ding! Actually, there is! But we Brits, with our ‘mastery’ of languages, only know it as FIZ…). He has not ‘been working on this innovation for a number of years,’ and does not ‘see it as a niche with potentially wide appeal.’

But, heavens, isn’t it genius all the same? The car maker April Fool’s joke press release is something of a tradition in the UK, and the traditional masters of it are BMW. The firm even takes out national press adverts. Other firms are getting in on the act, but some have a long way to go.

Sort of Aprils fool.....Right after WWII, BMW's factory was located in East Germany. The Russians took it over and made quasi real BMW's known as "EMW" at the old BMW Eisenach factory, all cars made there had Red Roundels....so who knows, maybe in an alternate universe the red one is the real one.

It may be a joke, but I would buy a set of red ones.

From those of us in the red fly-over states.

Even if they did come out to represent political parties, I wouldn't rock one. Some people are too "passionate" about there party and I would hate to see whats been done to my car if that person disagrees.
