1. I jusrtread in Consumer reports that the 328i reliability is far ahead of anything in the "Compact Sports Sedan" market segment -- including Lexus, Infiniti and Acura.
But still, the reliability. 2. The "why make anything simple when you can make it complicated?" design philosophy. I don't think a lot of BMW "features" are user-friendly. I've paid for them -- but I don't use them.

Seatbelt butler hasnt worked on either side for probably 30,000+ miles, the damn car came without an oil cooler (I have an e92 335xi without the sport package), the window button on the passenger door is too far forward on the door and can't be reached without a small ab workout,, the wheels are really far inside of the fender in back and not up front, causing ugliness or understeer, wastegate rattle. I could think of more if I really tried thats just what comes to mind immediately!
Still love it to death. |

BMWs have been like that forever. My friend has an E32 735i, and E46 325xi, and his 7'er is like that. If BMW stopped doing that people would yell "your killing your own heritage" but if they don't people bitch that stuff is too complicated. What about no storage? What type of storage? I feel the trunk on the E90s are spacious enough for a mid-sized vehicle. |

Pull twice to unlock doors? Mine lock when I drive off but as soon as I take the fob out of the slot it unlocks.
I normally have the key out f the slot before any passenger has tried to open the door. |

I have to defend the cup holders as well. These are so much better than the flimsy excuse for cup holders I had in my early model B5 Passat which, quite literally, required two hands to squeeze a 12 oz. soda can into. I've had no problem with the huge "medium" beverages from Wendy's and Taco Bell fitting and staying put in my e90. The only bad part I see is if you have a passenger, they'd better watch their knees.
My gripes: - Folding rear seats that squeak and creek endlessly - The window controls on the pre-LCI models that are just a little too far away - Wiper control that's hidden behind the steering wheel and offers no manual intermittent mode; just auto mode which has a mind of its own at times - Electronic turn signal stalk that is always in the center position whether the turn signal is on or not (seems like a solution looking for a problem) - Phone buttons taking up space on the steering wheel for a feature I don't have while cruise control functions are relegated to a stalk that you can't see while underway - The stupid sunroof control that doesn't continue to receive power after the ignition is switched off like the windows do (one of the first model year features) - The fact that there are all kinds of options that can be turned on and off on the car, but you can't just go into a menu and change them easily, and at no charge. - Almost forgot, +1 for no place to put a spare tire under the trunk floor Last edited by R608; 11-18-2012 at 06:20 PM.. |

-Wind noise in coupes due to pilarless windows.
-Cup Holders are not good anyway you look at it. -Comfort Access is complete shit. (also... someone can drive car away with no key?, who thought that was a good idea?) -AT tranny in 335i does not work well in manual mode (has too difficult of a time to choose what gear to be in.) -Seat belt butler/extender in coupe sucks. (which I disabled by pulling fuse) -Ride is somewhat harsh even in sport package 335i on non runflat tires. The balance between comfort and sport isn't as good as it could be. -Seats while supportive are very hard. -ECU is way overactive... half the dash lights turn on for god knows whatever reason at times. -No dual AC mode in 2007 335i. -'07 never came with Oil Cooler. -Stock run-flats are terrible... no, not terrible...beyond terrible -The warning signals and sounds are the same for serious problems and very very basic maintenance. The bolded is definitely the winner. BMW needs to put in a Honda ECU or something that doesn't make the car appear like it's broken whenever someone farts in it. |

I hate that you can disable your trunk release, take the key out of the fob, and a valet can still steal your junk if you have the cold weather package because the entire area where the ski bag is just comes right out. That was dumb engineering.

I hate the non touch screen nav screen. It takes forever to punch in an address so I always just send the address from my phone to the nav.

You know we do have really big cup holders, just not the front 2. The ones that come out of the back seat are pretty decent.
