Nintendo Wii console
Kids aged 7 and 5 are keen on a Wii from Santa, just wanted a bit of advice on what to buy, where is best etc.
Argos have a console with Mario Kart for about £110 which seems pretty decent, what other controllers etc do I need for them to have a decent choice of games and play at same time etc. |

I know you'll want to buy new but I think these are going for about £40 used.
I'd really look around and see who's offering the most. The Wii-U is around the corner so maybe not the best time to buy. |

No idea tbh. I've paid no attention to it as the last two consoles have, on the whole, been a waste of time.
My point being it will be what the kids want next and I don't know if it will make the Wii out of date or if it will be compatible with it. |

The Wii-u is the newest\next gen version of the Nintendo Wii which has improved graphics and a nifty little gamepad type controller with a screen built into it which means they can play on the handheld console too when the TV is in use (whether you think this is a good or bad thing is up to you).
It is a marked upgrade on the standard Wii but whether your kids will care depends on how trend aware they are. I'm guessing that at 7 and 5 they might not be but if they are aware of the Wii-U and you buy then the older Wii then some disappointment might ensure. Be aware though that there is a massive difference in price, the Wii-U is going to be about £300. |
